Learning to speak involves very specific strategies targeting the particular skills involved.
Immersion is an important one.
We don't learn to speak by writing or completing endless exercises in books.

The British pronunciation is easier. Lean on the "t":

For the American pronunciation, just replace the "t" with a "d" and pronounce all four of the syllables π:

If you can't pronounce a word, syllabicate it. Practice saying the syllables slowly and then gradually speed up.

Using rhyming is a much better strategy:
Wine/vine/line/spine/fine/dine/mine all have the same i sound.
Vinyrd (vineyard) is just English in use (saying vin not vine).
Magazine and porcupine (zine and pine)? Poor letter- sound correspondence.

Languages aren't science.
They are also not formed or governed by rules, but instead contain a lot of patterning and there are always exceptions.
This is because languages evolve creatively. They aren't constructed mechanically.

Avoid doing this with another second language speaker as there may be too much self-criticism in the air.
