Early Years, Learning Through Play, British Education, Dubai School Taaleem

To support a smooth and confident transition into Secondary School, our Year 6 students recently connected with our Year 7 students for an insightful peer-to-peer session. Through open conversations and thoughtful advice, students gained a first-hand perspective on Secondary life, from classroom experiences to friendships and daily routines. It was wonderful to see our Year 7 students sharing their experiences and helping to guide the next cohort as they prepare for this exciting new chapter.

Our Grow a Garden ECA students recently enjoyed an engaging hands-on session exploring the different soil types of the United Arab Emirates and learning about the country’s indigenous flora, including the iconic Date Palm and Ghaf tree. Students also discovered more about summer crops and indoor cultivation techniques before taking part in a practical planting workshop. To conclude the experience, each student proudly took home their own cultivated plant, continuing their learning journey beyond the classroom.

As part of our exciting transition programme, our Year 6 students recently took part in ‘Taster Lessons’ with the Secondary team, experiencing engaging Maths, English and Science lessons designed to inspire curiosity and confidence ahead of their move to Secondary School. From problem-solving challenges to hands-on scientific exploration and thought-provoking discussions, students embraced every opportunity to step into the next stage of their learning journey with enthusiasm and excitement.

Our Super Science Squad put their scientific thinking to the test this week as they explored the fascinating world of forces by designing, building and testing their very own catapults! Through hands-on investigation, students discovered how pushes, pulls and stored energy create movement, making predictions and testing how far their catapults could launch. The session was filled with exciting discoveries, teamwork and plenty of curiosity as our young scientists learned through experimentation and fun.

Our Secondary Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful conversations around student progress, achievements and next steps in learning. Bringing together students, parents and teachers, these collaborative discussions encouraged reflection, goal-setting and a shared commitment to continued growth and success.

A little look back at one of our recent wellbeing initiatives 🦷✨

In partnership with Dr Joy Dental Clinic, our students recently took part in school dental screenings — a simple but important step in encouraging healthy habits from an early age.
Creating meaningful experiences that support both wellbeing and learning is an important part of everyday school life, and initiatives like these help our young learners grow with confidence.
