The Petroleum Institute is proud of its students for winning the first place in the largest national competition; Fifth Undergraduate Research Competition for the Mechanical Engineering category.

Khalifa University of Science and Technology claimed the top 3 national category awards in Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, in innovation of the field of water scarcity. The recipients of these awards included teams from Masdar Institute and Petroleum Institute.
Khalifa University of Science and Technology - Masdar Institute claimed the first place prize, followed by Khalifa University of Science and Technology in second place and Khalifa University of Science and Technology - Petroleum Institute in third place
