On December 14, 2023, the biannual meeting of the Gulf Association of Semiotic Studies was held to discuss current trends, opportunities and perspectives of semiotics within the Gulf countries and beyond. The meeting was attended by members of the Association and consisted of two main sessions with the discussion of new calls for papers by Zoe Hurley, Tariq Elyas, Rafat Y. Alwazna, Marianna Boero and Cristina Greco, and a presentation of the fascinating research on the Semiotics of Muslimness by Ibrar Bhatt.
