Join three NYUAD music professors for a discussion about the basics of going to graduate school in music. Who should go to graduate school in music? Should you go straight after college, or work before going? What factors influence admissions decisions, and what are graduate schools looking for? How do you fund a graduate education in music? How do you choose schools to apply to? Why should someone go to graduate school in music?

Presented by the Career Development Centre, this event will take place on Sunday, March 28 at 5 pm GST.

Dialogue Event: Emirati Women on Stage - with a Virtual Performance!

The UAE Majlis SIG would like to invite you to join them in their first dialogue event this semester: Emirati Women on Stage - with a Virtual Performance! The Emirati Women on Stage Dialogue Event will be hosted on Tuesday, the 2nd of March from 7:00-8:30 pm (GST). The SIG will be inviting young talented female Emirati artists to share their journeys in their fields of experience and to perform virtually. Attendees will engage in dialogue by asking panelists questions and learning from their expertise. The event will end with a virtual performance!

Rey, two successful UAE-based artists and NYUAD Class of 2020 graduates, as they share their personal experiences of leading independent art exhibitions, securing creative jobs at highly influential art-related enterprises, creating avenues for other young curators, pursuing social justice using arts, and freelancing in the region. This will be a candid discussion about topics like securing projects, getting a job in the arts, navigating paid vs unpaid work, developing transferable skills, knowing which companies to look out for, and much more.
