✨ Around two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of hosting our Debate Club Showcase,an evening filled with energy, ideas, and incredible talent!

A huge thank you to our upper debate participants Sabik, Caroline, Grace, and Abdullah for showcasing their wonderful skills as they debated the motion:

👽 “Assuming aliens exist, this House believes that we should try to contact them.”

From sharp arguments to engaging rebuttals, they truly brought the debate to life.

Special thanks as well to our amazing E-Board-Amn, Mitja, Mustafa, and Anna- for their wonderful presentation and for kicking off the semester so strongly. We’re so grateful for all the work you put in behind the scenes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported, and socialized (and enjoyed the snacks 😉).

✨ Around two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of hosting our Debate Club Showcase, an evening filled with energy, ideas, and incredible talent!

NYUAD’s Debate Union travelled to three international tournaments this year, including Oxford IV, IIUM Debate Open in Kuala Lumpur, and Formosa BP in Taipei. As the semester comes to an end, we couldn’t be prouder of our debaters.

Caroline and Sabik broke into the finals in the IIUM Open and were named the 2nd and 7th best speakers of the tournament. Lana and Sara reached the semi-finals of Formosa BP, while Črt and Mitja broke into the finals and were named the 1st and 7th best speakers!

A huge congratulations to all who participated and to every member of the Debate Union who put in time and effort to attend weekly training sessions.

A deep thank you to our executives, Anna, Grace, and Črt, for their hard work organizing all of these tournaments and helping people expand their debating skills.

These past two days, NYUAD hosted an open debate tournament for universities in the UAE. The weekend was filled with debating, learning, and laughter.
