Haven of Hope School which is a Christian School serving our communities with the HOPE of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ take this opportunity to introduce to you our Head Teacher Madam Victory Longwe:-
VICKY’S PROFILE

Am a Zambian born self-motivated lady. Born and raised in Kalulushi in a family of five. I was born in a strong Baptist Christian family. My father was an elder in a local church. He studied theology on the way to becoming a full time pastor, but his untimely death cut his career short. His death left me shattered, yet in a way made me what I am today.
He died when I still needed his guidance the most. He left my mother who had to struggle to raise the five of us as a single mother alone without any trade and any training. Seeing the daily struggles that my mother went through alone, left me a sensitive person that I’m today.
I have since grown up to be sensitive and responsive to the daily struggles of average families, much less the vulnerable people. I’m easily filled with compassion where I see pain, and I’m quickly moved to want to ameliorate it.
Hence the death of my father at a tender age and the struggles of my mother have taught me to share the joy of living, and the pleasure there is in wishing to create a world in which we can all create opportunities for everyone, where no one should be denied a decent life and fulfil their potential in life on the basis of being without a parent, or simply by virtual of being poor/vulnerable.
My life experience has therefore inspired a dream in me to want to share a life with the needy, to put at least a smile on the faces of the less privileged in society, and create opportunities for all. So, given financial resources, it has always been my desire to open up orphanages for the homeless, the street kids, give at least a sense of family and belonging to the less privileged. Zambia still has a lot of street kids that still need our attention; there are still a lot of kids from broken homes, kids that need to be given some education.
I would want to use my humble engagement as a school teacher here to gain as much experience as I can so that in future, I open up schools for the under-privileged, recreational facility and hospital just so as to offer them a sense of fulfilment and wholeness. This has always been my prayer. So given enough resources, I want to dedicate all my resources to realizing this goal of serving humanity in such a manner.
On a personal level, I’m God fearing and sensitive to the needs of others, and would want to sacrifice myself even when it’s at the expense of my life. Notwithstanding, this gives me so much satisfaction if only the little I can do can somehow give meaning and change the situation of another.
It has always been my conviction that this world can be a lot better when good people do something. That this world was created good enough with plenty for no one to lack. And that no one should ever go hungry, homeless or without a family on any ground whatever.
I’m married now with two kids – all of them boys. I wouldn’t say God has not been kind to me; He has been quite generous and gracious to me. But even then, on several occasions, I have had to go hungry too, unable to provide for myself, even for my kids. There were moments when I lost hope because I wasn’t too sure where finances will come from to see me through my education. Times when I had only one or two clothes to change and make do with.
Ironically, though, these are the same moments that evolved my faith and my conviction in this world. I grew up believing that we can all do something to give a home and some kind of family to the homeless. That we can all give food to the hungry so that no one goes hungry. That we can all give some kind of hope to the hopeless by offering at least some education to improve the situation of the less privileged and somehow create an equal society. I’m firmly convinced in a world of possibilities where everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can fulfil their potentials.
This has been my childhood dream. And the realization of this dream will be my greatest happiness. Every day I have prayed for grace to see my dream come true. But resources have been my limitation. But I know that one day I shall live my dream. An orphanage, a recreation facility and a hospital all seek to provide at least a sense of belonging, balance, wholeness, and fulfilment in the life a person. I will dedicate my whole life to see it done.
