What an incredible experience it was with Nicole Stott, NASA Astronaut, at PHA on 18 May 2023.
It was a whirlwind of excitement as Nicole engaged in a captivating session, inspiring young minds. She left everyone in awe of her space adventures.
It's been an unforgettable experience, and we want to thank Nicole for being such an inspiring role model. Her presence has ignited a spark of curiosity and passion for space, NASA, STEM, and STEAM among our youth.
The Living Maths Space Tour has truly paved the way for future astronauts and scientists.
Let's continue to foster a love for STEAM education and empower our students to reach for the stars.

🍝 Pasta: A staple that can help create nourishing meals for those in need.
🍲 Cup of Soup: Easy-to-prepare and comforting for individuals requiring a warm meal.
🚿 Toiletries and Sanitary Products: Essential items that are often overlooked but greatly needed.
🥪 Spreads for Bread: Nutritious spreads like peanut butter or jam to complement simple meals.
🐟 Canned Tuna or Pilchards: A good source of protein that can be incorporated into various meals.
If you are able to contribute any of the items mentioned, we would be immensely grateful. Together, we can make a difference and spread kindness throughout our community.
Let's unite and lend a helping hand to those in need. 🙏🤝

PHA was selected to participate in the SACE Provincial Bridge Building Competition, at Century City, after winning our group competition at the Cape Town Science Centre.
Sadly, Team 1 was not able to repeat the success they achieved at the group competition (150kg carry weight) and out of 31 schools, our first team was able to achieve a seventh place. Team 1's bridge was able to carry 32,5kg. Team 2's bridge was able to carry a respectable 27kg.
Abir Bari was our reserve, but at the competition he took part with 2 students from other schools. As he is new to bridge building, he found it to be a great learning experience.
Team 1: Vuyo Magele, Arno de Vries and Kieran can der Schyff
Team 2: Craig Zhanje, Kananelo Mokati and Shane Damons
Well done! We are proud of you!

On Thursday 11 May, PHA played their 3rd hockey match of Term 2 against De Kuilen High School.
With an intense play in rainy weather, the U16 boys team managed to remain undefeated and drew 0-0.
Unfortunately, our U19 team lost 2-0 with an injury stopping play in the last quarter. They made us proud nonetheless.
We are proud of our boys hockey teams for keeping the composure and displaying immaculate sportsmanship throughout the afternoon.
Well done, boys!
Yesterday, few of our learners attended a seminar with Indaba on Mental health issues and Cyberbullying.
What an amazing initiative to ensure our future leaders are educated and informed on the mental health challenges our youth are facing every day. How to stand up against any form of bullying and battle mental health with positive coping mechanisms are just a few things that were taught, and it is important that they are practiced within our schools.

Rainy weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of Marine Sciences learners to snorkel at Simon’s Town on Earth Day, 22 April.
The Snorkel for Science event offered by Cape RADD enabled learners to experience the ocean conditions and to see the organisms that they learn about in the Marine Sciences curriculum in their environment. They were also informed how they can contribute towards real data collection through citizen science.
Guidance by Cape RADD staff made everybody soon find their way in the kelp. A day to be remembered by all learners who attended as well as Dr Wheeler, Ms Slabbert and Mr Vermeulen.
Thank you to an anonymous parent who have sponsored all the transport fees and to Cape RADD for sharing their passion for the environment with the learners.
Congratulations to the following learners who recently competed and achieved at the Karate 2023 WUKF SA National Championships & Africa Open in Gqeberha.
