Our career assembly guest speaker today was Lindsay Gibaud, owner of Big Tree Marketing. She has been actively involved in tourism and Hospitality Marketing for 21 years.
Her story is very inspirational and filled with hope and bravery.
The message she left with our learners today is that we can't prepare ourselves for everything that life throws our way, but we can choose how to respond!
Watch the video in the link below 👇and read through the article to discover the importance of focusing on the vulnerabilities of the boy child.
Make the choice yours with uninterrupted personalised learning at your fingertips. 😍
Let’s take a look at our wider subject choice feature of the day available to Grade 10 and Grade 11 learners. 🙂

Last week Friday some of our Grade 10 and 11 learners had the opportunity to go on an excursion to the V&A Waterfront. They were taken on a 3 hour career walk. They explored various careers in and around the Waterfront, such as Marine Biology, Architecture, Entrepreneurship, Catering and Entertainment. Learners also attended an educational talk and ended the day off with a delicious meal.
Thank you to the V&A Waterfront for making this possible.

A teacher is a learner’s friend, inspiration, company and parent at school. They encourage you to take risks you never thought you’d be able to get through, but they knew all along!’ – Kelehile Maseola, Curro Vanderbijlpark (Grade 8 )
Happy Teachers’ Day to all the amazing teachers out there!

What is the #𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗘𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 and how does it work? 👩🏾‍💻Well, we teach in a different (digital) way. At traditional schools, teachers stand in front of the class and teach what they read from a textbook. They write on whiteboards, sometimes answer questions, and hand out homework to do after school. At our #𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗘𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, we teach by having our learners study textbooks and watch videos, simulations, and tutorials as many times as they need to understand what they’re learning (it’s a digital education). 🙋🏿When learners have questions, the teacher comes to them and explains everything they want to know, and they can ask as many questions as they need to. This means that each learner gets individual help exactly where they need, the teachers monitor each learner’s progress, and they get used to taking charge of their own learning and, later on, their lives.

Our grade 8 learners took part in a valuable and impactful “The Good Human” workshop presented by our Curro Create team this week.

Our learners are encouraged to explore and express their individuality within acceptable boundaries, and ultimately take responsibility for their actions. We guide them to follow their hearts and minds to develop into the best people they can be.

Our Curro Foreshore team of grade 8 and 9 learners took part in Inspire Drone League (IDL) Inter-school race at Herzlia High School in Cape Town last night.

Aside from much interschool drone racing, learners witnessed a demonstration by Fly FPV SA, a Special Interest Group under SAMAA (South African Model Aircraft Association) tasked with promoting safe FPV flying and competitions in SA.

The pilots and spectators were also given a demonstration by Jadon Churchmann, a South African drone racing champion, wherein he demonstrated the skills necessary to compete at the highest level.

The evening of drone racing culminated in the fastest pilot from the top four schools racing against one another.

Congratulations to Lelam Mbenya in Grade 9. He had one of the fastest times of the day and he was ranked 1 from our group. He was rewarded with an Inspire Africa DIY drone kit.

Well done to all who participated and thank you Mr Mnikathi for leading our group of learners!
