Devante Daniels (15) 'n Graad 9 leerder by ons skool het die afgelope naweek uitstekend gevaar by die landloopkompetisie in die Strand. Hy het 3de plek behaal en die posisie het hom toegelaat om te kwalifiseer om vroeg in September in die Wes-Kaapse kampioenskap in George te gaan deelneem.
Devante is 'n toegewyde atleet wat in sy vrye tyd oefen onder die afrigting van Barry Goliath, en het ook tydens die atletiekseisoen goed gevaar. Hy het 1ste plek behaal in 1500m en 2de plek in 3000m by die 2023 interskole.
Die skool wil ook van die geleentheid gebruik maak om ons ander landloop atlete geluk te wens vir hul opofferings, sowel as die afrigters vir die skoolspan, Me.C.Lajey en Mnr. D. Goeiman.

The Incredible Female staff of Scottsdene High School was pleasantly surprised, today by the male staff of the school with a beautiful Women's Day Light Lunch.
The women were celebrated for their love and compassion they share with the learners.
The female educators, student teachers, bursar, secretary, non-teaching staff and teacher assistants were all saluted for their roles they play in shaping our learners for their future.

Drie vir die bokke: Trots Kaap school unearths another talented rugby star A Kraaifontein school has produced its third Springbok rugby player in five years.

Well done!!!!

Two of our Learners who are part of the BTD(Be The Difference) Rugby Team made the school proud this past weekend. The team took part in the tournament in Athlone and walked away as the winners.
Well done to our Learners, Jayden Schrader (Gr12) and Kethan Swartz (Gr 10) who gave their best and could beat over 20 teams who were part of this event.

Spring Day brought a lot of fun to the school. Learners took part in two exciting competitions and won grand prizes.

Camelitha Malone (18) 'n matriekleerder is onlangs in die Junior Springbok Span opgeneem. Die vinnige leerder speel al van Graad 6 rugby en is baie toegewyd aan die sport.
Tydens die Junie-skoolvakansie is Camelitha in die nasionale span opgeneem.
Sy is nou besig om haar voor te berei om 19de Augustus in Gauteng teen Zimbabwe kragte te meet.

Orphaned by fire: Teen’s parents died while he fought for his life in hospital A teenage boy was given the heartbreaking news in hospital yesterday that both his parents had died tragically in a fire at their home.

Carmelita Malone, a Grade 12 learner, has been selected to represent Western Cape Touch Association (WCTA) at the Junior Touch Rugby Nationals in Durban.
This is testament to her hard work, dedication and athletic ability.
The national selectors will be doing selections at The Junior Nationals for South African Springbok Touch team to compete at the Junior World Cup in England in 2023.
A special shout out to her couch, Ms R, Marcus, for always motivating and nurturing young champions.

One of our matric 2021 learners, Jason Filander received an award at the 2021 NSC AWARDS CEREMONY that was hosted by Minister D. Schafer at Leeuwenhof, Cape Town.

Jason produced excellent results in his 2021 National Senior Certificate Examinations.

The Tourism Department of Scottsdene High School had an opportunity this weekend to be part of an excursion to Robben Island that was organized by WCED and NDT.
This was a great opportunity for the educators of the school to interact with the tour guides in order to bring the information back to the classroom.

We are saddened by the news of ex-teacher, Miss C. Lawrence's passing.
Miss Lawrence was a dedicated teacher in the Business Department teaching Accounting and EMS.
She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and joyful personality.
The Scottsdene High management, staff, SGB and community wish to express their sincere condolences to her family.

The air was filled with sheer excitement and there was a good spirit when the educators of Scottsdene High went for the single-dose of J&J vaccine. The educators brazed the cold earlier for the Covid-19 vaccinations.

With the winter break starting today for our learners, we want to wish them a safe holiday.

Scottsdene High is deeply saddened by this tradegy that claimed one of our brilliant Grade 8 learners,Ashley Nditha. All his teachers described him as a happy child who enjoyed being at school. His beautiful smile and generous personality will be missed by his classmates.

With a third wave looming it's business as usual when it comes to keeping the management, staff, learners and non-teaching staff at Scottsdene High School safe.
The daily safety protocol is being followed diligently to ensure the safety of everyone entering the premises of the school. After a year of being in a pandemic everyone at school is use to protocol that it comes as second nature. The Covid-19 rules are being incorporated into the lessons/curriculum to ensure learners learn more about the importance of being safe.
The rotational time table helps combat overcrowded learning spaces.

The management and staff want to encourage the community of Kraaifontein to be extra cautious in the wake of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and urge everyone to follow the regulations.

Carmen Stevens has been involved in the South African Wine Industry since qualifying in 1995. Carmen graduated as the first black South African to study the art of winemaking in South Africa. In January 2019 Carmen registered the first 100% black owned winery in South Africa in the picturise Stellenbosch.
