Last day in South Africa

It's been a privilege for all off us who got to work with these amazing, independent, strong hearted children. We miss miss them! We hope that each and every one of them came home with a new perspective on life and new knowledge about the world and themselves.

Our last day of class

Snippets of the second last day of the camp. we ended it off with a true South African Braai(Barbecue). It's been a WONDERFUL month with these AMAZING children.

Today the kids did lessons.They finished their beautiful Ndebele huts and swam in the pool. To finish offthe day we had a true South African Braai (barbeque)!

Today we went to Spier Eagle Encounters, where we got to interact with some amazing birds and reptiles. Then we drove through Stellenbosch University's Campus where Teacher Liezl studied. We ended the day at La Bonheur Croc Farm Crocodile Farm where there are more than 1000 Crocodiles! Our last trip was a great one.

Today we went shopping at Tyger Valley Centre after making origami buterflies with Teacher Tia. We had Spur Steak Ranches burgers for dinner. We also made some mini smores and fudge this morning :)

Today we visited Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness Centre where the children got to touch a giraffe. Ye Seong got licked by the giraffe! Then we went to Butterfly World where we saw beautiful butterflies, reptiles, birds and more. We finished off the day with chocolate tasting at Spice Route Paarl

Today the children baked very delicious peanut butter cookies! They also did a very impresive presentation all about South Korea. They are busy writing a story in English class about how their mascot(stuffed animal) is experiencing the Cape Town trip.

Cape Peninsula 20 January 2016

Snippets of our breathtaking outing today around the Cape Peninsula.

Today we explored the beautiful Cape Peninsula. We went to Cape Point, Boulders Beacher, where we saw African penguins and then ended the day off at windy Muizenberg. Everyone jumped right in the pool when we got home to get all the sea sand out of their hair ;)

Today the children started making their South African crafts and enjoyed their off time in the swimming pool.

Today we went to the iconic Table Mountain! What a beautiful view. We spent the day at Big Bay after walking around on one of the 7 World Wonders. We had a really fun day, the kids collected stones and shells for crafts later this week.

Today Teacher Tia taught the children how to crochet. They did so well, and made their very first creation: a little bunny. Everyone enjoyed the pool too :)

Today we went to Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital where the first successful heart transplant was done in 1967 by Christiaan Barnard. We also went to the Cape Town Science Centre where the children learned, played and did experiments.

Today we went to Cheetah Outreach and Harmony Park Camp Resort. Everyone got to meet and pet an adult cheetah. Thereafter we went to a lovely place to swim in Gordons Bay. The Children swam for more than three hours! They loved playing in the water and even found some crabs and other sea creatures to play with. A fun day in the South African sun.

Today the children did lessons on emotions. They learned how to say what emotions they are feeling in English. Thereafter they made animal masks to remember all the amazing animals they saw on the Safari from earlier this week. VERY creative!

Today we had a baking day. The children were divided into three groups to each bake and decorate their own cake. The children had a lot of fun mixing, pouring and creating their own cake by working together in a team.

Today we went to Ratanga Junction! We went on a lot of roller coasters and saw some neat animals including snakes and vultures. Everyone went on the biggest rollar coaster: The Cobra(as seen in this album, the yellow one).

Today we visited Kirstenbosch Gardens and The world of birds. We had a picnic under the trees after walking over the Canopy Walk Boomslang Kirstenbosch Gardens and exploring the smell and touch herb gardens. We had warm weather but it cooled down after lunch time. The highlight of the day was definitely having small monkeys climb on us as we sat on the grass at World of Birds

Today teacher Daniela and Tia did lessons with the children. They drew their Mascots today as the cover of their book that will be about how their Mascot is experiencing the camp here in Cape Town. They did an excellent job! They baked cookies and played board games after lessons, they had a blast.

오늘은 커스텐보쉬 대공원과 버드파크에 갔어요.
하늘정원다리를 걷고나서 나무아래서 피크닉을 가졌어요. 또 허브가든에서 각종 허브를 보고 만지고 향을 느끼는 경험을 했어요. 더운 날씨가 점심후에는 많이 시원해 졌어요. 오늘의 하이라이트는 버드파크에서 우리가 잔디에 앉았을때 작은 원숭이들이 아이들에게 다가와 같이 논게 아닐까요?
