Our Spring Programme schedule for August & September is up!
🗓Sessions start on 06th of August and run every Saturday of August & September. Most sessions take place at the wonderful Bertha House, but check the programme for a few exceptions.
The Spring Programme will use the same RSVP booking system as our Winter programme. Here's how it works:
⚡️ LIMITED PLACES are available to RSVP - for individual classes only.
⚡️ RSVP's open 10 days before each session. Email us on [email protected] to be added to our mailing list and receive the notification.
⚡️ First come, first serve. We'll respond to your mail to confirm you have a spot.
⚡️ We are also reserving a certain amount of spaces for walk-ins - but make sure you arrive early to get one.
⚡️ If you have RSVP'd but don't arrive by 9AM (when the class starts), your spot will be assigned to someone else who's present. So be on time!
⚡️ We unfortunately don't take block bookings (for the whole programme). Each session must be reserved for individually - this is to manage space and make sure all the available seats are used.
Thank you to the University of Cape Town, Screen Incubator and the Centre for Film and Media Studies - UCT for the support that makes our sessions possible!⚡️

Free Film School is an alternative, free, film programme starting in 2019, proposed to take place across the Greater Cape Town area.
The programme aims to supplement the existing film education available in South Africa, as well as to offer an alternative, multi-disciplinary source of film education to aspiring filmmakers without access to existing mainstream institutions.
Prior to launching the programme later this year, we are running a series of screenings at diverse venues across Cape Town. The goal is to bring together interested filmmakers, students, artists, activists and prospective facilitators to discuss the content of the course and contribute to its planning.
In the long term, Free Film School aims on fostering a new generation of storytellers, empowered to make independent, sustainable and influential work that reaches its audience.
