Oriental pork, a quick and easy dinner, based on a recipe from Nina Timm and My Easy Cooking .I used Creative Cuisine Pantry's Oriental Sauce and soft stem broccoli.

This easy, one-pot meal will be on the table in less than 30 minutes from start to finish!

For the meatballs

1 kg ground beef – topside if possible
1 large onion – grated
4 slices of bread
1 tbsp Worcester Sauce
2 tsp salt
125ml chopped parsley
1/2 tsp ground coriander
500 g pasta - penne, macaroni or spaghetti

Soak bread in water for about 2 minutes. Squeeze the bread to remove all the water and add,
with all other ingredients to the ground beef. Mix with the hands, but do not over-mix. Make
small meatballs and brown them on sauté function with some olive oil.
Remove from the Instapot.

For the sauce

2 x 440g tins whole peeled tomatoes
30g butter
45ml Olive oil
1 1/2 finely chopped onion
4 peeled garlic cloves whole
30g tomato paste
20 ml sugar
10 ml salt
Handful Basil leaves
750 ml water
250 ml red wine
A generous pinch freshly ground black pepper

Sauté onion and garlic in the remaining oil from the meatballls. When translucent, add the
meatballs back to the pan. Add sauce ingredients and pasta to pot. Put on the lid and set the
steam release k**b to the Sealing position.
Press the Pressure Cook (Manual) button or dial and then the +/- button or dial to select 9
minutes (7 minutes for al dente).
The pot will take several minutes to come to pressure. Cook time begins when pot is at
After cook time has finished, turn off the pot and turn the steam release k**b to the Venting
position, and allow to release all pressure.
Serve with lots of freshly grated Parmesan and chunky bread.

Winter is my season. I love everything about it. The weather(yes, even Cape Town weather), the cold, the soups and stews and watching movies under the blanket. Today is a very cold and wet day here in Cape Town. My @lecreusetsa pot is already out and ready. I buy my oxtail in summer and freeze it, then is it a cheaper cut, in winter, demand pushes up the price. Cold and rainy today and immediately my first thought is comfort food. This sago pudding ticks all the boxes and the @allgoldsa strawberry jam has a slight tartness which I prefer to the traditional apricot jam. Bake it as individual portions or a oven casserole. Enjoy.
