It is with great sadness that we inform you of the tragic passing of one of OGKK’s senior instructors, Eugene Alexander Sensei. Our condolences to his family, friends and students at this difficult time. You are all in our thoughts.

An OGKK competition was held yesterday. Plumstead dojo was represented by Georgia Humphrey (orange belt), Tim Roux (black belt), Rebecca Viljoen (black belt) and Sensei Miles Pattrick. All four of our representatives received medals for their respective katas. Congratulations to Tim and Georgia for receiving bronze medals, Rebecca for receiving a silver medal and Sensei Miles for receiving a gold medal.

OGKK Plumstead held a grading on Saturday morning. Congratulations to Nic, Byron, Rachel, Cheslynn, Lydia, Verna and Georgia on receiving their grades.
Sensei George Kattan (Elias and Lillian’s son - the heads of OGKK South Africa) passed away yesterday from COVID leaving Giana, his wife and Kai, his 4 year old son. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers at this tragic time.

On Saturday 21 November OGKK Plumstead held grading for all yellow, orange, green and blue belts. Congratulations to Lauren, Rachel, Nic, Byron, Louise, Cheslyn, Lydia and Verna who all received their grades. Thanks to Vic and Chris for assisting Sensei Miles with the grading.

Congratulations to Zachary for being awarded the job our roll for karate at his grade 12 prize giving.
In light of the recent spike in violent crime OGKK Plumstead will be running a self defence course starting in October.
Please let me know if you will be interested in attending.
Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays 6 - 7pm.
Tea and coffee served after each class.
7 October: dealing with confrontation
9 October: dealing with arm grabs and counters
14 October: dealing with body grabs and escapes
16 October: dealing with weapons
