A brief history
Wynberg is proud of its reputation as an icon of South African, if not world, schoolboy cricket. The History of a School (1961) by DH Thompson credits Mr Lloyd, a popular master at Wynberg during the 1880s, with establishing cricket as an institution. He used to hold lunchtime coaching sessions which would conclude with him having a knock against the schoolboys. Legend has it that

Wynberg is hugely proud to be the only school nationally to have 2 players heading on this tour which forms part of the preparation for the SA U19 team’s road to the 2026 World Cup.
