A brief history

Wynberg is proud of its reputation as an icon of South African, if not world, schoolboy cricket. The History of a School (1961) by DH Thompson credits Mr Lloyd, a popular master at Wynberg during the 1880s, with establishing cricket as an institution. He used to hold lunchtime coaching sessions which would conclude with him having a knock against the schoolboys. Legend has it that

November 23: Well done to Old Boys Matthew de Villers (Matric 2018) and Wesley Bedja (Matric 2015) on their superb 132 run and 5 wickets respectively in the 3-day match for WP Colts vs Border Colts. Matt scored 187 the previous week against SWD Colts. 🏏🏏🏏👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
