On the 11th of March we came together as a JAMFAM to show our support for the launch of our crowdfunding page for the Rising Stars Program, which was created in 2017.
Learners from Wynberg Girls’ High School, Livingstone High School, SACS, Springfield Convent Senior and Junior Schools, Oakhurst Primary School, Rustenburg Junior School and Camps Bay High School put on a sunset concert for friends and family to raise funds to sustain the Rising Stars Program this year.
Thanks to the generous donations from our community, we raised R9855. This allows us to purchase new equipment for our Rising Stars hub at Livingstone High School! Thank you to everyone who spread the word about our concert through social media and to friends and family!
It goes without saying that we are incredibly proud of our students for putting on a stellar performance after only a few weeks of rehearsal after the summer holiday. If the Picnic Concert is an indication of the year to come, we have no doubt our students will perform phenomenally at the upcoming Marimba Jam Eisteddfod - which is the largest annual Marimba Band Competition in the Western Cape 🤩🤩

HOW WE DRESS DOES NOT MEAN YES!
Livingstone High School presents Aggravation, a fashion show which showcases the violation woman and children are facing on a daily. Are we "asking for it" if our skirts are knee length or if our undergarments can be seen through our shirts?
We do not ask to be r***d and violated, we do not ask to be treated like property. Our show hopes to bring awareness to what is happening not only in our community, but around the world.
