Bulumko Woji & Karen Mostert, both from the Eastern Cape originally, are inclusive play and learning facilitators at Shonaquip Social Enterprise. Bulumko is an occupational therapist and Karen is a Montessori Preschool teacher, who also studied communication support for adults and children with disabilities.

We had a fantastic morning with the farm animals. Thank you to Megan’s petting mobile farm, the Cuties enjoyed every minute!

Did you know? Children who understand their emotions and have the coping skills to deal with them will be confident that they can handle whatever life throws their way. 😥😮😠😂

Here is an easy activity to do with your children this week.
1. Divide a paper plate into 4 sections.
2. Have your children colour and label each section (green – happy, blue –sad, yellow- excited, red-mad).
3. Add a peg and set this feelings wheel out where it can be seen.
4. Each day encourage the children to clip how they are feeling and talk about it.

💡Top Tip: Together create just 1 large class emotions board. Use cardboard to create a larger size to keep in class. Have a bucket of pegs and give each child a turn to peg their feelings. Discuss as a group about why they are feeling a certain way.
