Scholarships — Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School 27/04/2023

Attention all High School Seniors! The Betsy Brickley Scholarship is awarded to a graduating High School Senior who attended the Neighborhood Cooperative. The award is granted to an individual who demonstrates a commitment to community service and volunteerism. Betsy, one of our first teachers, taught at the Neighborhood for more than 20 years and has touched the lives of many children and families. The application can be found on our website and is due by May 1st.

Scholarships — Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School The Neighborhood has always attracted a creative and loyal staff, many of whom started out here as parents. The contributions of two long-serving Neighborhood Educators are honored each year through scholarships in their names.

While most of us think of glue as a means to an artistic end, preschoolers approach white glue as an art medium all by itself. As parents and teachers we often want to redirect them and ask "Don't you want to put something in all that glue?" But if you can sit back and watch the beauty in the look of meditation or concentration that settles over the face of a child as she systematically empties bottle after bottle of glue onto a target of some kind- you will see the exploration of viscosity, gravity and sq**rt bottles and you will see a child who is learning and creating
