Terrian - He Sees You (Official Lyric Video) 05/11/2024

The word “church” began to be used in place of “ekklesia” after the publication of the King James Authorized Version of the Bible in 1611. Leading to the erroneous use of separation of church and state. See you can’t separate people from the public square based on their religion that is protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

In the Old Testament, the prophets preached in the ekklesia
Esther spoke for her people in the king’s court
Mordecai spoke at the king’s gate
Jesus didn’t use the work church, but he used the word: ekklesia
“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My ekklesia, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

“And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the ekklesia. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector” (Matthew 18:17).

The ekklesia in the Greek means “those who are called-out ones.” In the Hebrew ekklesia means ‘assembly’ or ‘gathering.”

Church is restrictive and confining to “a building used for public christian worship” according to the Oxford dictionary.

This election day, you take your faith into the ekklesia to cast your vote! Make an impact in your local community, nation, and the world.

This song is perfect to today as “He Sees You” by Terrian
He sees
Everything that you're gonna be
He's healing every lie you believed
He sees you
He sees you, oh
And He knows
Your future, so He's pulling you close
He is your defender, I know
He sees you
He sees you, oh

God Bless you all,

My mind kept drifting to the song, Oh My Soul. There is one lyric, “Oh, how you’re weary, from fearing you lost control.” It is more than just being a little sad or tired but that gut wrenching pain where even just breathing takes effort. Your vision is blurred from the tears. Your whole being is sucked of its energy. Your brain power, emotions, and even your spirit is past the point of exhaustion.

The battles of life are real and raw and are happening on so many levels. When you find yourself in the fight for your life due to a health diagnosis. Prayers hover over my friend who was hospitalized recently. Intensive care is no place you want your loved one to be in so prayers for recovery to overcome the weariness over health issues. Praises to my friend for staying in the battle to win her brother out of addiction and even better coming to church. Understandable if she would have given up, but even though she was tired she was weary she never left the battle. Another friend who in daily pain stayed strong on this campaign who is sticking it out through this battle for our country. So many other examples of weary people who are choosing not to leave the battlefield.

If you are in the midst of a battle here are some reassuring words where you can be encouraged and refreshed:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40: 29-31).

“For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul” (Jeremiah 31: 25).

I think we all know how it feels to be weary:

-turn to the Lord and ask him to fill you with a fresh outpouring of His Living Water
-feeling depleted, then open God’s Word to nourish your spirit
-be refreshed by refreshing others so encourage someone else to today to brighten your own heavy heart
-remember that prayer is just a dialogue with a loving Father who will never turn you away

A pastor asked a question about what we will do after November 5th and it doesn’t go how we would like it to go? Pray was the #1 answer from the audience. I think we are all feeling a bit weary from this election cycle. His response was you wake up and you pick up your cross and you head right back out there into the battle because we know how the battle ends. Jesus will be coming back if you believe it or not. But, as believers, yes, we kneel in prayer but armor up and grab your sword as there are souls to fight for. Then he quoted John Quincy Adams, “Duty is ours, results are God’s.”

“Adams explained his quote to a reporter by saying, “It's only up to me to do the right thing. It's up to God what happens after that”. He also said, “I would point out from scripture, God has not called us to be successful, he's called us to be faithful.”

Heard this new song by Jeremy Camp called “These Days.” It inspires us to keep pushing because:

I believe that you and I
Are in the right place, at the right time
God called us by name
And He doesn't make mistakes
I know we were born to shine bright
In a dark world that needed some light
Don't have to be afraid
Maybe we were made for these days

Prayers over our country, communities, and families. God Bless each of you!

1000 Israeli musicians sing with one voice, BRING THEM HOME! - Homeland concert 08/10/2024

Ever think about life’s transitions? I mean really reflect on the pivots made that move you in one direction or another? There are things out of our control and today I was sitting in a doctor’s office listening to what I thought was the sound of a baby’s heartbeat in whoosh of an ultrasound. I am at the end of my baby days. Not that I want another baby at 53, but still leaves a bit of melancholy when the parts that made you a mom are no longer producing so welcoming in the life pivoting effects of menopause. After my pity party mid-life moment, I walked out of the room into the hallway to hear that whooshy heartbeat again. Our children are our greatest blessing and that sound holds so much value that I teared up. Tears of appreciation as I have so much fulfillment in the life of my son, but it is sad when I think about how commercial after commercial comes on promoting silencing that sound.

Ironically, I was invited and attended a First Choice gala Friday night. It was my first, but what a night of celebration of life. My Faith Votes at one table. My Red Rock Calvary church family at one table. Moms for Liberty at another table. So many other great groups there to mingle with and share opportunities to support each other in the battles that are ahead of us.

The main speaker was Chad Williams. He is a former U.S. Navy SEAL who proudly served his country. He told amazing real life experiences as he shared the Gospel along the way. Seems like an oxymoron to have a man of war come in to talk about the sanctity of life in the womb, but he intertwined his SEAL experiences, patriotism, and love of life like a master storyteller. He wrote the book, SEAL of God, which is a mixture of his memoir and evangelism.

“Chad shares his own radical conversion story and talks about how he draws on his own experiences as a SEAL to help others better understand the depths of Christ’s sacrifice and love.”

These experiences struck me as I finished up my study on Galatians that my pastor preached on over the past 7 weeks. Paul’s letters to the Galatians are so relevant today because the church has allowed itself to be removed from the truth of the Gospel. Many have stopped defending the Gospel.

False doctrine has upended Biblical truth. Many churches have made Jesus the background and not the purpose and mission of the church. Nothing but a mere nice guy Christianizing the social order.

Just like the Judaizers in Paul’s lifetime, so are there false teachers and preachers. Ever heard of the Social Gospel movement in the United States? It is a religious wing of the progressive movement which had the aim of combating injustice, suffering, and poverty in society.

Walter Rauschenbusch, a Baptist minister and theologian, advocated for a “social gospel.” He believes Christianity must address social questions. Western civilization is passing through a social revolution unparalleled in history for scope and power. Its coming is inevitable. Religious belief must be put into practice to right society’s wrongs.

“God is acting, and Christ is here now” so it is up to men and women like him to act on the message of Christ and help create the kingdom of God on earth.

“Christianizing the social order means bringing it into harmony with ethical convictions which we identify with Christ” (Walter Raushenbusch).

“The purpose of all that Jesus said and did and hoped to do was always the social redemption of the entire life of the human race on earth” (Walter Raushenbusch).

“The Kingdom of God is not a matter of getting individuals to heaven, but of transforming the life on earth into the harmony of heaven” (Walter Rauschenbusch)

-Paul warns the church that we do not co-exist with evil as the darkness distorts and perverts the gospel of Christ
Galatians 1:10
“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

-On the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus issued this stark warning to His listeners: “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:15).

Oct. 7, 2025 A prayer in remembrance of 1-year of the attack on Israel from the article “A Prayer for Israel:

“We long for the ne’edarim, our missing. May they be found. We will not rest until the shevuyim, our abducted, are released and returned to their loving families.

We are grateful for the many beyond the Jewish community who have stood at Israel’s side in its great moment of need.

Dear God, be our partner, as a rofeh holim, a healer of the stricken, a menachem aveilim, a comforter of the mourners, a mattir asurim, a liberator of the captives.

Od lo avdah tikvateinu, our hope is not lost. Lehiyot am chofshi b’artzeinu. We will be a free people in our land. Adonai oz l’amo yitten, God, strengthen your people Israel; Adonai y’varekh et amo vashalom, God, bless your people with shalom, peace.

Please join me in saying Amen” (Noam Marans).

May God Bless you all,

Celebrating life, embracing parents, and cherishing the innocence of our children.

Megan Woods - The Truth (Official Lyric Video) 28/09/2024

Well, my editor just sent me my manuscript for the final review. I glanced through the red marks (grammar) and green marks (word choice) and for 179 pages I have to say not too bad. What caught my eye were two scriptures. One from my book rep and one I had chosen for my book. Interestingly, I forgot why I had chosen that particular scripture. Both reflect a bit of what I am feeling.

Habakkuk is one of the minor prophets in the Bible. There is a lot packed in 3 short chapters.
He takes his lament right to God by questioning God’s goodness in the face of the world’s injustices and evil. God responds by telling him to stand in faith and that there are woes laid out for the wicked. Habakkuk responds in chapter 3 with a hymn of faith.

It is a very small book that reminds us we need to be restored in strength by God. He is not some unknown abstract entity. He is there to listen to all our frustrations. He will not turn us away, but like Habakkuk he may not answer in the way we want but he will answer. As we are renewed in His Spirit we can feel him take control back over the things we just cannot. I cannot control the dysfunction of my school district. I can’t control the apathy of the church. I can’t control people of faith not taking voting seriously. The battle is ours but the outcome belongs to God and I just need a reminder every now and then.

Here is the last lines Habakkuk writes:
“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills” (3:18-19)

As I read the last line of my book, I still tear up. So many emotions welled up, so when I read this scripture I was reminded that being human I want to know the future of not book sales but just that I reach people with my story. It is a vision that I will see at an appointed time. Like Habakkuk, He hears me and restores my strength in the face of a very fallen wicked world.

Habakkuk 2:2 says, “And the Lord answered me: Write the vision, and make it plain… For the vision is yet for an appointed time

Now, this scripture I have in my book and I had to remind myself why I picked it. Psalm of David 103 tells of a God who delivers the nation from bo***ge as well as a loving parent who is revealed to have compassion and affection for his children. God loves children. He loved me as a child and he rescued me for a purpose. He will continue to do the same for my child. It is a promise to all his children. It is a beautiful Psalm written by David who was a man after His own heart.

“But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children” (Psalm 103: 17)

I was awarded the Nancy Hart recognition from my Moms’ for Liberty chapter. It was their 1 year anniversary so it was a great celebration. I had to read up the woman I was honored under this recognition. Nancy Hart was an American frontierswoman, who played a valuable role in defending her family and community during the War for Independence but also in shaping the memory of the American Revolution in ways that still resonate today. Her covert activities as a patriot spy, have become the stuff of myth, legend, and local folklore.

A little bit of history. I love her physical description. Made me laugh!
“This person was Nancy Hart, a Woman entirely uneducated, and ignorant of all the conventional civilities of life, but a zealous lover of liberty and of the “liberty boys,” as she called the whigs. She had a husband whom she denominated a ” poor stick,” because he did not take a decided and active part with the defenders of his country; although she could not conscientiously charge him with the least partiality to the tories. This vulgar and illiterate, but hospitable and valorous female patriot could boast no share of beauty; a fact she would herself have readily acknowledged, had she ever enjoyed an opportunity of looking in a mirror. She was cross-eyed, with a broad, angular mouth, ungainly in figure, rude in speech, and awkward in manners – but having a woman’s heart for her friends, though that of a tigress or a Katrine Montour for the enemies of her country. She was well known to the tories, who stood somewhat in fear of her vengeance for any grievance or aggressive act; though they let pass no opportunity of teasing and annoying her, when they could do so with impunity” (https://www.americanrevolution.org/nancy-hart-biography/).

Back to my mission: Get out and vote! There are no excuses why you take your vote for granted and just do not participate in the process that elects people who make decisions on every aspect of your daily lives. If you are a person of faith then use that faith and take it into the public square. We are called to be missionaries in the halls of government. Vote the dysfunction out!

I heard this new song by Megan Woods called “The Truth.” Let the words resonate in your heat

I know who I am
'Cause I know who You are
And I hold Your truth inside of my heart
I know the lies are always gonna try and find me
But I've never been so sure
The truth is I am my Father's child
I make Him proud and I make Him smile
I was made in the image of a perfect King
He looks at me and wouldn't change a thing
The truth is I am truly loved
By a God who's good when I'm not good enough (not good enough)
I don't belong to the lies, I belong to You (I belong to You)
And that's the truth
God Bless you,

Shinedown - A Symptom Of Being Human (Official Video) 07/09/2024

I posted a picture of my left-side profile as a reminder to myself of how much my face has healed after shingles. Not only a reminder that I still have my eyesight, but that the outward damage is almost non-existent. Sometimes I feel I forget the miraculous spirit of God who intervened in my life so many times. When the crisis is over there is a tendency to push God back in the corner until the next traumatic event.

Here is the irony of life. Many of you know I had shingles on the left side of my body and one year later my sister had shingles on the right side of her body. Now, my sister went through a balloon sinuplasty an hour after I had the same minor procedure. This last week we have shared in the misery of recovery. Another thing we take for granted is comfortable breathing so if you ever have been so impacted you are in a constant state of ear/nose infections along with not really remembering what taking a full breath through the nose feels like then go get checked out. I can say a week later I feel like my face has lost weight. I actually do enjoy breathing through my nose. It is a process easily taken for granted. Appreciation and blessings come in many forms so don’t lose sight of the beauty around you or taking in your favorite aroma.

“But my eyes are upon You, O God the Lord; In You I take refuge” (Psalm 141:2)

“Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel” (Proverbs 27:9).

My manuscript is off getting edited so that is just another intense stressor. A nail biting anxious feeling that people who are not really invested in my story provide feedback. Even though I know it is necessary to make a better product, when it is my intimate story I cringe with anticipation. Which is why it has taken me 10 years to get the courage to get it published. It is like the rest of my writing. I worried about negative criticism to the point I tried never to offend anyone, but that is just impossible. There will always be someone who just doesn’t like you. But now be prepared if you go to my site because I no longer hold back on so many levels.

I thought about my transformation from my own “Silence is Compliance” which is the idea that if someone doesn't object out loud or with actions, they are silently agreeing or allowing something to happen. Now speaking Biblical truth matters to me. Truth should matter to all of us especially when our kids’ minds, hearts, and souls are at stake. Basic education has become some racial or gender or sexual spin on every aspect of their lives. Even the concept of Jesus has become warped and untrue. I read this recently:

Modern Jesus
-Gives you health & wealth
-Never says anything negative but embraces all -isms
-Loved & accepted by the world
-Serves your will, not God’ will
-Hates to offend you or others

Biblical Jesus
-Preaches God’s righteousness
-Gives salvation, hope, peace, & joy
-Warns of sin, judgment & hell
-Hated & despised by the world
-Exalts God the Father’s will
-Offends the world with the truth

“He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers (2 Corinthians 1:10-11).

Prayers, we don't turn a blind eye to what is happening in our country. Get involved. Do your research. Stop being persuaded by incredulous commercials. Don’t take your vote for granted by not showing up. Be diligent in knowing about the decisions being made for you by our government.

Here is a song by Shinedown, “A Symptom Of Being Human”

You've always been slightly awkward, kinda weird
Upside down and not all here
Right a wrong, it's all so crystal clear

I've never been the favorite, thought I'd seen it all
'Til I got my invitation to the lunatic ball
And my friends are comin' too
How about you?
Don't worry, it's all just a symptom of being human

Papa Roach - Leader of the Broken Hearts (Official Music Video) 21/08/2024

What we sometimes take for granted. One example would be the eyebrow and forehead muscle, so did you know:
-The average lifespan of an eyebrow is four months, meaning the time it takes for each hair to fall out and new growth to fill in. (I had rubbed mine off from the shingles itch-didn’t think it would grow back and now it is thicker than the other one)
-The average person has about 250 hairs per eyebrow. However, some reports show that never-plucked brows can have as many as 1100 total hairs. (Wow!)
-Our eyebrows also help us express our emotions and let our eyes ‘speak’ to other people.
-Eyebrows function as protection of our eyes from falling debris and sweat
-Occipitofrontalis, a muscle that extends from your eyebrows to the top of your skull that can raise your eyebrows and wrinkle your forehead.

So why is this important? I do not want Botox. So shingles weakens muscles and can leave some nerve endings in a permanent state of pain or numbness. I found facial exercise to combat droopy eyelids. Working out the forehead and brow muscles. So, try to raise your eyebrows. Easy enough, but hold and lower. This is when I noticed just how numb my left side still is. I can’t feel my eyebrow raise. I know I am doing it (watching myself in the mirror), but it's weird trying to exercise a muscle that has gone numb.

Sometimes it is the small things like me exercising my face out of vanity. But, just this week someone close in my work circle is having a brain tumor removed. Another having an unknown surgery but recovery is 6 weeks. A father living through the 1st year of his son who killed himself by su***de. I sometimes feel that August is a heavy month for all kinds of pain, sorrow, and trials. I am sure I am tainted as I revisit my own loss of a child. When I know my best friend revisits her own pain as the loss of her love due to su***de. It can feel like an oppressive fog that is hard to recover from when left in the gap of the how's and whys of these life experiences.

When you come to the point of hopelessness what do you do?

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:18-19).

On another note, I am not sure if anyone else has noticed the infighting between people who claim to have the same goal are infighting among themselves. And there is no way you can stay neutral. Even people of faith are at each other's throats. The concept of grace being thrown out the window. It is just crazy to watch. It is hard not to get swept up in the heated exchanges. I still think a lot would be less said if it were in person. The email lectures are long, bold, and in red. Anger and rage flowing from fingers on that keyboard. The texts filling up the inbox way after midnight.

At church this Sunday, we have started to look at Galatians. Paul talks about the infighting of the people of faith. He talks about allowing false doctrine to infiltrate the church separating people causing strife that is uncalled for. Paul questions the motives and purpose of the church and its leaders which spills over to its members. He speaks of the goal of winning souls for Jesus which should be the only goal and with that preparing believers for the battle to combat false teachers, preachers, pastors, and today's political leaders.

Paul in Galatians Ch. 2 discusses that we all have this nature that is opposed to how we should behave as believers in Christ. When we act like the world then we are worse than those living in the world. We destroy our own testimonies. Paul doesn’t hide the truth that even the apostles and their followers disagreed or were jealous of one another to a point that broke relationships. Bitterness entered and the good of what God wanted to accomplish through people was squashed. Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy. If you look at society believers or not it is evident this is a true reality. We all could use just a little grace.

“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20: 24).

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4: 16).

So, flipping through music like I have a tendency to do, I was looking at past bands and ran across two bands: Papa Roach and Shinedown. So, the next couple of posts I wanted to share my fav from each. This song is “Leader of the Broken Hearts.” We all can relate to surviving some kind of brokenness.

Holding out for more than I deserve
And hanging on to all your careless words
Maybe it's time I cut the cord
Maybe I stay and take some more
I've become the leader of the broken hearts

And now I finally know what it feels like
To risk everything and still survive
When you're standing on the battlefield
And all the pain is real
That's when you realize

Prayers for grace in all this infighting. Prayers for healing in individuals, family, community, churches, and America. We all sure need it.

God Bless You,

All Sons & Daughters - All the Poor and Powerless 03/08/2024

Feeling something so strong or thoughts that just will not desist? I have a hard time narrowing my focus at times. Well, most times. I am constantly working on this or that and then I have too much to tackle and a lot gets lost in the business of life.

-I am entering my 29th year in education. Seems like yesterday I was decorating my first classroom.
-It is that time of year when the melancholy memories of great loss for myself and my dearest friend are shared
-I turn 53 on the 9th and my doctor stated my estimated life expectancy is 83 (based on my latest health check-up)-hmm

And one big milestone:

I finally signed with a publisher this week to print my manuscript called "In the Eye of Prayer." Took away from blogging, but it is finished. I don't talk about this time of my life very often, but it is time. I was told many of my experiences was just my overactive imagination, but I had many experiences that were miraculous when I was a child. No way to just explain them away. So, now on to the editing process.

A lot to catch up on, so first is highlights from Ben Carson's message at Freedom Fest.

He seems so soft spoken, but in his message there is a feistiness and he has a great sense of humor. He stands as an unapologetically man of faith. He asked an excellent question which was also a challenge for believers to get involved in all areas of the public square. His story is so intriguing. He tells of how he almost killed another human being and how that moment transformed his life. He jokes about his hot temper. He does admit that he still gets fired up and can handle his own in a heated debate. Such a great storyteller.

Ben Carson's question: America, doesn't it mean something?
Highlights:
-One Nation Under God
-Our founding documents that our rights come from God
-We are endowed by our Creator
-Pledge of Allegiance that We Are One Nation Under God
-Our courtrooms walls it says In God We Trust
-Every coin and bill in our wallet says In God We Trust
"Our relationship with God has allowed us to go from a ragtag bunch of militiamen to the pinnacle of the world in record time."
-God is always there if you look for him

Ben recited this scripture to encourage believers to face the challenges of this broken world and be assured of the hope on the results of standing firm in our faith:

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed" (2 Chronicles 4: 7-9).

Peter Navarro spoke and his 2 warnings that seemed pertinent as we are watching the power yielded by our government bodies on all levels.

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power” Abraham Lincoln

-If we the people don’t control our government means that their government will control us
-Government practicing control of their power of injustice (pack the court, if not like justices then override with executive order-removal of checks & balances)
-" was imprisoned for standing up for the Constitution"

"Communism, Socialism, Marxism, and all other radical-isms are not philosophies but tactics—tactics that are specifically designed to unleash terror on everyday people and revoke their human rights to life, liberty, and property. These are the forces of unhumanity" (Jack Posobiec & Joshua Lisec).

Reminded me of an Ann Landers answer in what we used to read-newspapers. Reader had asked for a simple way of teaching these concepts (updated a bit for current times).

-ISMS

Socialism: You have two cows. Give one cow to your neighbor.

Communism: You have two cows. Give both cows to the government, and they may give you some of the milk.

Fascism: You have two cows. You give all of the milk to the government, and the government sells it.

Na**sm: You have two cows. The government shoots you and takes both cows.

Anarchism: You have two cows. Keep both of the cows, shoot the government agent and steal another cow.

Capitalism: You have two cows. Sell one cow and buy a bull.

Surrealism: You have two giraffes. The government makes you take harmonica lessons.

I heard this song at church. Inspirational and warms the spirit!

All the Poor and Powerless by All Sons & Daughters

Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God
And we will sing out
Hallelujah
And we will cry out
Hallelujah
We will sing out
Hallelujah, shout it

Prayers cover our country today and in the passing months. November matters so I pray that each person doesn't take voting for granted, but exercise freedom in the choices of who will represent their vote this season. I pray for protection over the innocence of our children.
