The dormitories are almost done -thanks to some hard work and generous donations from some very special Friends of the Orphanage. Wow! And a VERY SPECIAL THANKS to Chris for all of his work painting, hanging gutters, fixing the roof of the library (now that its rainy season!) and for helping us get the room ready for the new computer lab! Thanks, too, to Chris and Kaitlyn for the tasty cookout with all of the children this past weekend. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.

Wonderful things are happening at CRM these days! The dorm rooms are tiled and painted -only the porches and outside painting is left to finish! And Dr. Kevin is helping the boys learn how to repair the bicycles! Thanks to everyone who contributed to these projects!

The baby chicks are growing and the big ones are already producing, thanks to Lamuel's wonderful care! And the ducks aren't thrilled with their new home, but Cyrus is taking great care of them. A big thanks to Laumeul and Cyrus and all of the boys who are helping them -they are taking good care of these fine feathered animals!

Thanks to everyone contributing to the future of the Children's Relief Ministry. Beyond what is listed on the gofundme account, there have been generous donations of time, labor, and love on the local level and it is amazing to see the community come together to help the founders of CRM create an improved safe space for these children. THANK YOU!

We are so proud of our very own Abe who was asked to go to another orphanage in Liberia with Melissa Tabke to help her teach the children there how to build a perma-garden!

More construction at CRM! The dining room, kitchen, and office all needed a new roof and it looks like a second floor is also in the plans for this space. That will give us two additional classroom spaces and a small apartment for live-in staff.

21/05/2017

Yay -we have new bikes at CRM!

19/05/2017

The chicken project is well underway at CRM! Lamuel and Moses are leading the charge to take care of the chickens and the ducks are settling into their new home under the watch of Cyrus! We already have a few eggs and the baby chicks are growing quickly!

Anne Geroski posted an update to their GoFundMe campaign.

Exciting infrastructure improvements at the Orphanage that have led to a better quality of life. Thanks so much to generous donors and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make these improvements happen. It is amazing!

gofundme.com So many great things are happening at the Children's Relief Ministry Orphanage in Paynesville, Liberia. Donors have already made it possible to upgrade one of the dormitories, and the children love the newly improved space. If you give a child a book....

If you give a child a book, they will read it! Yassah, Success, Evelyn and Peculiar are reading books on the new tiled floor! And look -Ma organized the children's clothes on the new shelves!

Thanks to a very generous gift from a Friend of the Orphanage, the little girls room is now tiled. And because of another generous donation, the girls also have shelves for their clothes! The girls were so pleased with the new floor that all of them -even the big girls- spent the morning lying on it and enjoying the smooth, clean feel. We are hoping to raise enough money to have the 3 remaining dorm rooms tiled and to purchase fans and mirrors for each room as well! THANKS. THANKS. THANKS to everyone who is making this possible for the children at Children's Relief Ministry.

16/03/2017

Thanks to an incredibly generous donation from one of the Friends of the Orphanage, we were able to get the first of the 4 dorm rooms -the little girls room- almost completely tiled! As always at CRM, everyone chipped in to make this happen! Thanks. Thanks. Thanks!

Check out the exciting things happening at CRM these days! Abe and Patience went to a garden training and have started building a garden near the kitchen. Lamuel was really helpful in all of these efforts. Also, now with the current running, we are moving on to our next dorm projects. The little girls and boys picked "lemon green" for the color of their dorms and it looks great! Thanks to a generous donation from a Friend of the Orphanage, we will soon have a new tile floor installed in one of the dorm rooms. We hope to raise funds to complete the tiling of the other dorm rooms. Also, all the dorms now have a closet and we hope to be able to build shelves for all of the children soon! We also received an awesome donation of a basketball hoop last weekend, and the kids love it! Finally, we have had some books donated and toys donated and you can see how much the children love reading them/playing with them! Thanks everyone for your generosity! Thanks, too, to Moses for his amazing hand at running all of this activity so smoothly for the children at CRM!

We are building a vegetable garden at CRM. Patience and Abe went to garden training and are leading the efforts -collecting compost, mapping the garden, and digging! Even Ma decided she wanted to learn how to create a garden and stepped up to help. All of these helpers are learning about water and soil management and some of them truly are emerging leaders! Stay tuned for more on this project!

13/02/2017

The solar panels are up on the dorms and we now have lights! We are moving ahead on the next phase of the dorm projects -getting closets made. Next is the floor -we are hoping to transform this old bumpy rough cement floor into a nice tile floor, and we hope to have shelves made, and a few new windows and screens so the mosquitos will stop visiting us in the night! WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR THE GENEROSITY OF THE FRIENDS OF THE ORPHANAGE THAT HAS GIVEN US HOPE THAT THESE NEW ADDITIONS WILL HAPPEN. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

04/02/2017

Patience and Abe are learning about gardening at the Peace Corps Permaculture training. We hope they will bring their knowledge back to CRM and help us grow a garden!

Love these kids and the amazing MSG team!

And then, this same weekend, we had a visit from the generous people of Pickering Energy Solutions W. Virginia (a shout out to Chip Pickering, Aaron Ouellette and Keri Dunn...I am sure I missed others) and PartnerLiberia (a shout out to Joe Daweah, Mike Davis...who did I miss?) who began installation of the new solar panels on the new roof of the dormitory.

The forward-thinking people of Pickering Energy Solutions and the generosity of PartnersLiberia are bringing light and innovation to CRM. We are so grateful. Reaching out to the most vulnerable around us makes us all stronger! On behalf of CRM, we thank you!

This was an exciting weekend at CRM! First, thanks to a generous donation from a Friend of the Orphanage and the Christian Aid Ministry in Liberia, the new well is complete! Here is a photo of the new well and the deconstruction of the old one!

19/01/2017

Great things are happening at CRM this new year! The zinc is now on the roof, the solar panels are delivered -thanks to an amazingly generous gift from PartnersLiberia (you can see that Latue is keeping them safely stored until its time for them to go up), and the ceilings are in process in the dorms. Soon we will have light!
