Temperatures above freezing?
Learn more about ticks here.

We’ve gotten a lot of questions about tick activity in the winter. People seem surprised to find them! Activity slows down where it is cold, but these are the types of ticks you might find, depending on where you live. Mostly blacklegged tick and western blacklegged tick adults, with a few other types active mostly in the southern states. Send photos of any ticks you might find this winter to TickSpotters (https://bit.ly/TickSpotters_Submit)

Tick checks! Especially after doing spring cleanups.

Can you imagine finding this while cleaning up your garden after winter? Actually, a pretty incredible find! Probably left by a deer or dog. It’s about a month or so away from laying THOUSANDS of eggs. Read more about this part of a tick’s lifecycle in “The Tick Hunt” https://bit.ly/thetickhunt
