TfEL Focus on building a community of learners.

Developing a strong group identity is key. After watching this video clip talk to your students about the characteristics they saw that helped these kids succeed, from the individual right up to the community as a whole.

How does this tranfer to your classroom/ school. Together brainstorm the key actions that are required to be a successful community of learners.

Display these in your room and refer to these throughout the fortnight.

Design learning activities that allow students to engage in and enact out these actions. As a lead learner model these yourself.

Thanks Brenton and the TfEL team for sharing this clip!

As a teacher leader how do you use professional learning to develop understanding of the effective use of assessment?

CEASA has been asked by the SACE Board to seek information from potential participants in courses to be conducted by the newly established Institute of Educational Assessors.

CEASA is supporting this initiative to provide professional learning opportunities for educational professionals in developing their understanding of assessment and the use of assessment to improve student outcomes and are seeking support from all educators to ensure the needs of educators are met.

The survey will take approximately 2 minutes to complete. Participants who have completed the survey by July 29 2014 will be entered into a competition to win a place in the Certified Educational Assessor course from the Institute of Educational Assessors, valued at $1000. To be in the running to win this fabulous prize, please include your contact details at the end of the survey.
