We hope this message finds you in good health.
First, we’d like to extend our deep thanks for your support of the “Inferior in Canada” campaign. It is wonderful and encouraging to know that so many people from all walks of life are committed to correcting the historical narrative on who belongs in science, and helping girls and women thrive as scientists.
Much has happened since we launched this campaign, including a pandemic that has upended all aspects of our lives. At this point in time, we’ve made the decision to close the campaign and donate the money raised to date to the Canadian Association for Girls in Science (CAGIS), in honour of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (Feb 11). CAGIS is Canada’s largest and longest-running science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) club for girls and gender nonconforming youth and its mission is well-aligned with the underlying goal of our campaign. We are confident that your generous contributions will go toward supporting meaningful learning experiences for future scientists and engineers.
