Beaconhouse Rejects Slanderous Social Media Campaign!
A recent social media campaign has accused Beaconhouse of spreading “anti-State” and “anti-Army” sentiments based on the supposed inclusion of a controversial question in our Pakistan Studies exam paper. This is both misinformed and slanderous.
The exam question being attributed to Beaconhouse and causing such an uproar is, in fact, from a CIE O-Level Pakistan Studies examination from June 2002 which was attempted by tens of thousands of students across Pakistan who appeared for the Pakistan Studies exam in that year. This fact can be verified by downloading the said paper from the Internet or by purchasing any “past paper” books available in the market.
These allegations and others that have recently appeared on social media represent a concentrated and coordinated attempt by our detractors to malign our name. We therefore urge all these ‘keyboard activists’ and those blindly following them by sharing their misinformed posts to first get their facts straight and then spread information.
For over 40 years, Beaconhouse has prided itself in imparting quality education of an international standard while instilling in our students great respect for our homeland and the sacrifices rendered by past and present generations to safeguard its sovereignty and dignity.
Moreover, it may be pertinent to recall that Beaconhouse has always remained cognizant of its responsibility to nation-building and has risen to the occasion without hesitation in times of national crises. For all these reasons and more, we find these baseless allegations reprehensible and hurtful.
As a goodwill gesture towards our devoted and longest-serving employees, Beaconhouse has taken up the initiative to send 5 employees across the system for Umrah this year. Irrespective of cadre, 5 employees with 25+ years of service were selected via balloting belonging to the support, office and technical staff. Beaconhouse will be carrying out this initiative annually.
We are pleased to announce their names and will be sharing their sacred journey on our official pages. Join us in congratulating the lucky winners and wishing them the best for their journey of a lifetime.

Surviving Economic Crises through Education
David R Cole, Associate Professor in Education, Western Sydney University.
Globalisation theme leader, Centre for Educational Research.
The education systems in which we work are locked into economic cycles of boom and bust that go back to the beginnings of capitalism in 16th century Europe. This presentation will address these cycles, focusing on the bust aspect, or, as they have recently been defined, as ‘crises’. Two notable crises will be mentioned, the Argentina economic crises of 2001 and the Global Financial Crisis or GFC of 2008. Conclusions and ways forward will be drawn from the connection between economic crises and education, focusing on the teaching and learning of thinking and non-cognitive skills. This talk will address the ways that education can survive into the future as a fundamental mode of becoming or as a change hypothesis: ̶ and that allows it to sidestep the precarity and downward slide into negative functioning of global capitalist rhythms.
Wishing you a very happy Eid!
