Custom Fire Training Products/Force Entry Door/Training

Operating as usual

Photos from Braskey Products's post 28/05/2024

Finally!!! We had the chance to burn an 18 minute burn package in Central Community’s training facility.

The goal of this package is to get multiple reps under a smoke/ heat environment. Smaller burn packages allow fire behavior training and escalating training scenarios. Thanks to all that we’re able to help make this a success.

For local Texas departments swing by our booth at SFFMA the end of June in San Marcos and see what Braskey has to meet your training needs.

Be on the lookout for some of our new props.

Almost done with Central Community’s training T. This facility consists of a 40’ working area that can be modified to fit local needs as well as a lined burn room to generate smoke and heat for live fire training.

This “Working” area includes two temporary cross walls, two exit doors, 2 entry windows, steel floor, and multiple floor drains.

This system can also accommodate ventilation props as well as different skills stations.

Contact Braskey Products for more information.

Can’t wait!

We are up and running at FDIC 2024. Stop by for a visit and talk about your department’s training needs in the near future….we can help you achieve those goals

Photos from Krum Fire Department's post 14/04/2024

Congratulations Krum FD on your recent training props. Pictured is the first of our container projects…. with a little furniture, this area can be utilized for hose advancing, search, VES drills, window bails & removals. The barrel system allows class A smoke and some heat signatures for TIC training. Krum FD’s Braskey Low Pitch Roof Prop can be moved to the top of the container and allow laddering, walkable vent, and aerial access. Their Braskey Door can be placed inside and perform low visibility commercial force entry.

The other advantage of this system is its modular and can add a burn room and an additional container to create a larger work area as the budget allows. A second (and even 3rd) floor can be added allowing multi floor drills.

Looks like it’s time to smoke it up and put it to use!!

It’s been a busy Spring working on local Fire & Police projects. Most of these have been our standard items, but we can also customize easily and usually for minimal cost.

If you are headed to FDIC, our Braskey Trailer will be set up outside between Lucas Oil Stadium and the Convention Center. Booth #19004.

As the devastating wildfires continue to burn in the panhandle please keep the communities, livestock, first responders, and those coming to the aid of everyone affected in your thoughts and prayers.

Next week comes round 2!

We are excited to add the first round of training props for our crews to train with. This round includes a forcibly entry door and roof ventilation prop. Thanks to the collaboration between Braskey Products, Fire Department Assistance - Texas A&M Forest Service and City of Krum Government city council.

A rugged steel design with expanded metal deck is designed for years of service with little or no maintenance. They also include drop in posts with dual safety chains.

These props are 24’ long and offer 2- 8’x8’ cut areas on each prop with enough walk space to work the sides safely. These are built on skids to allow easy movement and the skids are the correct width to add to the top of a conex allowing ground ladders and aerials.
The drop in posts allow quick removal that permits aerial sweeps and movement across the roof deck without obstructions.

For all you forcible entry nerds, who says residential doors are easy….the front doors in this house were all formidable (there were 3 different sets) in this 14,000 sqft 2.5 (some might call it 3) story single family home. All the doors around back were custom as well, maybe a little less fortified but several hundred feet out of the way.

We have a number of these custom doors (and “houses”) in Truck 6 & Engine 8’s first due. If you have a high rent district or remote rural area, there are likely some there as well. Learn to develop controlled force with minimal staffing (one man attack).

Read the fire & choose your path wisely. Great work by the Flower Mound FD digging out this hidden challenging fire. And, thanks for the invite.

Thanks to Southern Exposure Photography as well

Putting in some door work

Photos from Braskey Products's post 08/11/2023

Here is some custom work. The fire box is 3/8” for years of service and it’s all double welded to slow down burnout and rust out. This one is for my old Driver and friend since about 1986.

Happy retirement Captain Chris Trail! Thank you for the sound advice and insight on how to work with our crew.

If you have a specialized project we can probably build it…

O’Byrne will be sharing their knowledge at the Lewisville Conference Nov 28,29,& 30. Tickets are on sale now

It’s real, this was a working fire , 2x6 drop bar. Door split in half with conventional FE skills, then removed drop bar.

Summer heat has finally been pushed out of North Texas and training is in the air!

Braskey just completed 3 days of Forcible Entry Irons Work with Celina FD. We are headed back in November for 3 days of Radial Saw Handling.

Wichita HOT is next weekend, Oct 14 & 15 offering top quality classes on a budget.

Smaller Texas departments can often use House Bill 2604 funds to pay for training, keeping their limited funds for normal operations.

Braskey instructors understand limited resources and an understaffed response. We will help build skill confidence which results in more effective firefighting operations.

Contact us to help build your class.

One thing to remember is we hand oil these handles. Every 6-12 months they will need a little boiled Linseed oil cut (we use turpentine) about 1:1 mix to reduce shrinking and weather proof the handle. You may also need to sand the handle with medium/ fine sand paper too.

The blades are durable, but occasionally need a little file work.

The handle in my original is from 2013 and still holding up with the above care.
