The field trip to Faraday Semiconductor Technology Company was a memorable learning experience. Faraday is one of the leading companies in the semiconductor technology industry, and we had the opportunity to tour and learn about how they work and produce semiconductor products. Additionally, we had the chance to interact with some of the employees at Faraday, from engineers to researchers. They shared their daily work and how they contribute to the company's development. We also had the opportunity to inquire about career prospects in the semiconductor technology field and received valuable advice on working in the industry. Our group of 70 students from the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at Vietnamese German University would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all the members of the Faraday technology company. Today, we had a marvelous and unforgettable hands-on experience exploring the company's operations.
We extend a special thank you to all the guides and employees of the company who took the time and shared their knowledge to introduce us to the technologies and products the company is developing. The moments of sharing and answering our questions we have made the tour a precious and practical learning experience.

University Physics Competition 2021
* Team 152 (Nguyen P**c Truong Loc (ECE), Le My Linh (ECE), Truong Duc Minh (MEN)) has won a Bronze Medal.
* Team 151 (Do Minh Tri (ECE), Vu Hoang Minh Tuan (MEN), Hoang Minh Quan (ECE)) has also won a Bronze Medal.
The University Physics Competition is an international contest for undergraduate students, who will collaborate in teams of three for 48 hours to analyze a real-world scenario problem using the principles of physics, and write a formal paper describing their work. An interesting fact about the contest is that all of the problems may contain incomplete information and to proceed, students will have to do serious background research and make reasonable assumptions. This means that there may not be one unambiguously correct method, but instead there may be many useful approaches and approximations. The number of teams joining in the contest has risen significantly from 58 in 2010 to 324 in 2022 with many high-caliber teams coming from reputable universities all over the world.
For the 2021 contest, two teams from ECE and MEN programs of VGU had participated in the competition (Team 151 and Team 152).
The 2021 University Physics Competition began on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 6pm MDT (Mountain Daylight Time), which was Saturday, November 6, 2021, 1am GMT/UTC, when the contest problems below were posted.
Problem A: A Thicker Martian Atmosphere
Suppose that we could increase the atmospheric pressure on the surface of Mars to 0.2 bar, by vaporizing the polar caps and subsurface ice. This atmosphere would then likely decrease over time, as a result of several processes, such as escape into space, and erosion by the solar wind. How would the surface pressure decrease as a function of time? How much time would it take until the pressure is only 0.1 bar?
Problem B: Asteroid Ocean Impact
Consider the impact of an asteroid in the ocean, 1,000 km from a coastal city. What is the minimum mass the asteroid would require in order to cause substantial damage to this city?
Both teams had decided to choose Problem B: Asteroid Ocean Impact and were tasked to determine the mass of an asteroid so that it would cause substantial damage to a coastal city if it crashed into the ocean 1000 kilometers away.
Despite a lot of different details, the basic approach of the teams seems to be identical. It was assumed that a partial amount of the kinetic energy of the asteroid has been transferred to the ocean surface during the collision. Information about losses, wave energy and tsunami impact were extracted from scientific texts. In the end, both teams are very honored for winning the Bronze Medal. Names of each team, its members as well as supervisor are proudly announced on the competition webpage.
