VEER BAL DIWAS was celebrated in Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar with great vigour. A Special Assembly was conducted to make the students aware about the sacrifices made by the young sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of Sikhs. Students were taken to Gurudwara Sahib and were shown the movie ‘Chaar Sahibzade’ . A wall magazine SAFAR - E -SHAHADAT was displayed in the school. Students also recited poems and paid homage to the courage and sacrifice of Chaar Sahibzade. Students also participated in online Quiz conducted by MoE in collaboration with My Gov.

SUKHLEEN KAUR of Class VI of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar became CHAMPION by bagging First Position in District Chess Championship 2023 held at Delhi Public School , Jalandhar .

ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION 2023 ‘URJA’ was celebrated in Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal - Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar amidst great zeal and vibrancy .Shri Abhijay Chopra ( Director Punjab Kesri Group, Jalandhar )was the esteemed Chief Guest , Shri Subhash Sharma was the Guest of Honour. Among other dignitaries present were President -Sh. Naresh Budhia, Sr. Vice President - Sh. Vinod Dada , Manager -Sh.Praveen Dada, Joint Secretary -Sh. Raman Budhia ,other members of the management - Sh. D.K. Joshi, Sh. Parmod Kumar Chopra, Mrs. Manju Arora ,Principal Mrs Priyanka Sharma, Principals of various schools - Mr. Swatantar Pathania, Ms. Anjana Rajput, Ms. Krishna Thakur, Ms. Mamta Behal, Ms. Malti Jyoti, Ms. Kiran Puri, Mr. Sanjay Sharma , Ms. Sonia Jairath, Ms. Nishi Shukla , Ms Veena ,Ms. Anu Bala, Ms. Jagdeep Kaur , parents and students. The programme commenced with releasing of balloons and lightning of the Ceremonial Lamp by the Hon’able Chief Guest escorted by President , Manager, the Principal and other dignitaries This entailed the bouquet presentation and pinning the badges. This was followed by a cultural programme based on the theme ‘URJA’ with a scintillating Welcome Dance.Students of Class I performed with a message to keep their surroundings neat and clean as nature provides the living beings a place to live in. Students of Class UKG gave an enthralling performance on Jago remembering the good old days. Students gave an enthralling performance on the Krishna Leela . Class IX performance was a NUkkad Natak expressing that today’s children are forgetting their values because of Computers and mobiles and also made the people aware about Cyber Crime. Students of class VIII performed on VASUDEVA KUTUMBAKAM giving expression to Unity in Diversity. The classes with their performances highlighted that every child is harnessing the power of Urja by embracing their individuality, radiating their inner light, finding joy in learning process, and pursuing their ambitions with the determination ,students can embark on a journey of success, leaving an indelible mark on the world. After prize distribution, token of love was given to the dignitaries and vote of thanks was followed by Bhangra. The programme culminated with the National Anthem.

A GREAT MOMENT FOR SHCSD !!

MEETKAMAL DHANJAL ,a student of SHCSD, received the most prestigious FAP National Award 2023 held at Chandigarh University Campus. She got the PRIDE OF INDIA AWARD for scoring 98% marks in Class X (Session 2022-2023)

SD Trophy U-19 Inter School Cricket Tournament 2023 was held in Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar with great enthusiasm and vigour. Various teams of SD Institution participated in it . The Closing Ceremony was presided over by revered Chief Guest, Mr. Naresh Budhia (President). The other dignitaries present were Mr. Vinod Dada (Sr. Vice President), Mr. Parveen Dada (Manager) , Mr. Sanjay Sharma (Principal, DSSD Sr. Sec. School, Sodal Road , Jalandhar) and Mr. Swatantar Pathania ( Principal, DSSD Sr. Sec. School, Basti Nau, Jalandhar). The closing ceremony witnessed the Final Cricket Match between Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal, Jalandhar and DSSD Sr. Sec. School, Sodal Road, Jalandhar.The Final match was enjoyed by everyone . SD Trophy was bagged by *Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar*. Jaskaran Singh was declared The Man of the Series, Anurag - The Best Batsman , Arjun - The Best Fielder and Prince was declared The Best Bowler. The Trophy and medals were given to the players of the winning team and runner up team.

The Principal, Mrs.Priyanka Sharma , congratulated the winning team and thanked the participating teams for their commitment and cooperation that has been key to the success of the tournament .

ANOTHER FEATHER IN THE CAP OF SHCSD

We feel elated to share that HARSHDEEP SINGH of Class XII of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar, participated in KALA UTSAV 2023 -24 at STATE LEVEL which was held in the Auditorium of Punjab School Education Board, Mohali. He bagged SECOND POSITION in Music Vocal (Classical) .

A Housewise Quiz Competition was conducted in SHCSD on the topic CYBER SECURITY. Students of Class V - VIII participated in it very enthusiastically. Four Rounds were conducted including MCQ type, Objective type, Rapid Fire and Fastest Finger First Round. Students of TAGORE HOUSE bagged the First Position closely followed by LUXMI HOUSE with Second Position and PATEL HOUSE bagged Third Position.

The Principal ,Mrs Priyanka Sharma congratulated all the students and informed that such quizzes help the students learn about a subject in a fun way and act as stress relievers.

Yet Another Proud Moment for SHCSD!!

We are absolutely delighted to share that MEHTAB KAUR of Class VIlI participated in CBSE State Level Athletics Tournament held at Pratap World School , Pathankot and bagged Gold Medal in 200 metre Race and Silver Medal in 100 metre Race . She also qualified for National Level Athletics Tournament for both Races.

SD TROPHY U-19 Inter School Cricket Tournament 2023 was inaugurated in Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar . The worthy Chief Guest Mr.Parveen Dada (Manager ), declared the Tournament open admist synchronised March Past led by Sports Captain Harman Kaur followed by House Captains and Vice Captains of various Houses. SD Torch was lit in the school premises which symbolise struggle for victory and light of spirit and knowledge of life. Six schools of SD Institution are participating in this tournament.

Another Proud Moment for SHCSD!!

SUKHLEEN KAUR of Class VI participated in PSEB School Games State Level Chess Championship 2023 which was held at The Town School , Malerkotla. She represented the District and gave 100% performance by winning 4 out of 4 matches. The team won the Championship and got trophy and Gold medals.

School, Sangal Sohal - Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar participated in CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP in PUNJAB KHED MELA held at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana and got GOLD MEDAL. This is not all .She also participated in UCMAS held at LPU Jalandhar and got 5th Position out of 5000 participants.

The festival of DUSSEHRA was celebrated with great zeal and zest in Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar.
The tiny tots were shown ‘A Puppet Show’ giving them the message of victory of good over evil. The students were told about the characters of Ramayana.

The Principal, Mrs. Priyanka Sharma said that such celebrations not only provide a platform for enjoyment but also serve as an educational opportunity for students to learn about the values and principles associated with the festival.

Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr.Sec.School bagged SECOND POSITION in INTER SCHOOL ANNUAL CHAIRMAN’S DEBATE COMPETITION.

We feel elated to share that MITTALI RAY and MUSKAN YADAV of Class XII participated in INTER SCHOOL ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION organised by Mayor World School, Jalandhar and secured SECOND POSITION. The topic for the competition was ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HAS REDEFINED THE THREAT PERCEPTION OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION.Both the students gave remarkable performance.

School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar participated in the school assembly in which they were educated about the dangers of drugs.They pledged to keep themselves, their family and their loved ones away from drugs and enjoy a hale and hearty life.

A group of students from SETH HUKAM CHAND S.D. PUBLIC Sr.Sec SCHOOL,Kpt Road,Jalandhar visited retail store as part of a class field trip. The students were accompanied by their teachers.
The purpose of the field trip was to give students a firsthand look at the retail store.Students toured the store and learned about different aspects such as product selection, expiry date , purchasing ,Veg and Non veg signs etc.
The Honourable Principal Ms.Priyanka Sharma said that
such field trips make the students more informative about the retail shops and shopping.

Seth Hukam Chand S.D. Public Sr. Sec School ,Kapurthala Road , Jalandhar featured the movie "I Am Kalam" to the students to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India. It is a story of inspiration and determination.
The students were deeply inspired by the movie. They said that the story of Kalam's life taught them that anything is possible if they set their minds to it.

The Honourable Principal Ms. Priyanka Sharma spoke about the importance of celebrating Dr. Kalam's birthday. She said that he was a great role model for students, and that his life and achievements were an inspiration to us all. She encouraged the students to follow his footsteps and to strive hard to achieve their dreams.

We feel elated to share that HARSHDEEP SINGH of Class XII of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar, participated in KALA UTSAV 2023 at ZONAL LEVEL which was held at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Shergarh, Hoshiarpur. He clinched FIRST POSITION in Music Vocal (Classical) and also qualified for the State Level Competition.

Grandparents Day celebration

Grandparents Day gives us the perfect opportunity to honour and thank the grandparents for the love and support they have been showering on us over the years. Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr. Sec. School, Sangal Sohal- Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar welcomed all Grandparents to a fun-filled celebration where students welcomed the Grandparents with a welcome song followed by another musical performance and gave dance performances for their grandparents as a gesture of thankfulness & gratitude. The grandparents played various games conducted by the school and enjoyed a lot.The students were overwhelmed with joy as they showcased their creativity and expressed their love for their grandparents.

The Principal, Mrs Priyanka Sharma expressed gratitude to all the grandparents and said that in today’s time ,presence of grandparents is a must for overall development of the children.

CHARANPREET SINGH of Class IX bagged First Position in Music Instrumental and HARSHDEEP SINGH of Class XII got Third Position in Music Vocal (Shabad Gayan) .

He also qualified for the State Level tournament.
