Planned Changes to Accreditation 21/10/2024

NAEYC Accreditation information:

NAEYC is considering including family child care in the early learning program accreditation updates based on the feedback we have received from our members. The field has rightfully held NAEYC accountable for not being sufficiently inclusive to FCC and we are responding to this.
The accreditation updates are being piloted currently and we welcome feedback! We will continue to iterate on the content based on the feedback we receive.
The changes are not purely focused on family child care, but connect to a wider goal of inclusivity which also focuses on different program philosophies (Reggio, Montessori), nature based outdoor learning programs and public school districts.
All of the information available about the changes is public on the NAEYC website. Anyone can review the proposed content, process and fees. There is also a survey to give feedback. Planned Changes to Accreditation | NAEYC
NAEYC continues to partner closely with NAFCC whose expertise and importance we tremendously value.
