VENTRICULAR TAP.

A ventricular tap it's a surgical procedure in which an opening from the outside is made to the lateral ventricle areas of the brain.

ventricular tap is indicated:

1.To reduce intracranial pressure.

2. Drain cerebrospinal fluid in non-communicating hydrocephalus

Diagnose ventriculitis.
3. Administer intraventricular drugs (e.g., antibiotics) directly into the brain

4. To obtain cerebrospinal fluid for investigations of central nervous system diseases.
