Just wondering how many want to get together next year for 60 years?

We were not going to do this again, but we get this email wanting to know what plans were being made and well….it has been 5 years and we are still here!

So Alumni Banquet, restaurant, or something else?

Just wondering how all are doing? This summer sure has been hot and dry in Virden.
Roger and I live in a great neighborhood. We have classmate and schoolmates close by.
We live in the quietest part of town, less traffic than we had when we lived 9 miles out of town. Never thought we would be happy in town. I miss the animals but do not miss the work that goes with them.
We still try to get away west for the winter. Roger is going to have a hip replaced next month and that should make it easier for him to keep the motorhome on the road for the trip this year.
Why don’t you let us know what is going on with you and yours? That way we can keep up with each other.

Hope to hear from you!

It is with deep sadness that I am reporting the passing of one of our classmates. Becky Hart Cotterman. The following is her obituary.

Rebecca “Becky” Cotterman, 75 of Virden passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her home with her loving husband by her side. She was born September 22, 1946 in Springfield daughter to Byron and Edna (Davison) Hart. She married Gary Cotterman and he survives her passing.

Becky loved spending time with her family. She especially treasured the time she and Gary enjoyed together with their Muscle Cars and the flowers that he always planted for her.

In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Gary, she is survived by son Rick (Jill) Cotterman of Virden, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brothers Ross (Companion Bette) Hart of Chicago, Burt “John” (Sandy) Hart of Auburn, Byron Lee (Carla) Hart of Texas and nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.

In keeping with Becky’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life services will take place at a later date.

Memorials are suggested and may be made to Prairieland Ambulance, Memorial Home Hospice or the Animal Protective League and will be accepted by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden who is honored to be caring for Becky’s family.
