Hegins-Hubley fifth and sixth grade classes received a yummy breakfast as part of their Christmas gift from their teachers. We would like to give a special thanks to Michael's Foods in Klingerstown for generously donating the eggs and hash browns. Students also completed escape room activities in Mr. Schreffler's, Mr. Klinger's, Mrs. Troutman's, Mrs. Personette's, & Mrs. Artz's classrooms. The students enjoyed their Christmas activities!

First grade met their Dawg Team goal and had Polar Express Day for their reward. Students listened to the story, did activities across the curriculum, and had hot chocolate with marshmallows while watching the movie in their pajamas. Merry Christmas to all🎅🏻🎄
Ms. Klinger’s class was gifted a surprise after they finished their gingerbread houses. Their gifts were wrapped in the students’ wrapping paper they designed and colored throughout December” 🎁🎄
Over the past week, Miss. Simms' class traveled around the world to seven countries and learned about how they celebrate the holidays. Students made a souvenir from each country, learned about various traditions, and got to listen to many different holiday songs! Merry Christmas from 2nd grade to all of you!

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students at Hegins Hubley enjoyed Christmas Fun Day. Students rotated between classrooms where they played games, answered trivia questions and made fun crafts🎄🎅🏻🎁
4th grade at Hegins Hubley had their annual Gingerbread House Day. 30 plus years for this amazing project. This wonderful tradition lives on due to the generous donations and time of parents. Thank you!

Students from Mrs. Klinger's class worked in pairs to use only gumdrops and toothpicks to make houses for their gingerbread men. The students did a great job!

Hegins-Hubley Kindergarten and 6th grade buddies paired up today for some fun Christmas activities like BINGO. Many were showing off their 'ugly' sweaters!
Mrs. Strohecker's 6th grade class used Oreo cookies to replicate the steps of Oreo Mitosis. The students learned a lot and had fun!
This week in 5th grade at Mahantongo, the students are becoming Christmas tree farmers. Today, they set up their Christmas tree farms by plotting a Christmas tree farm map. Then they analyzed last year's tree sales to decide which type of tree to plant. They also studied the life cycle of Christmas trees and learned about 4 types of Christmas trees.
Today Nurse Schwalm brought “Germ City” to Mrs. Kimmel’s first grade classroom. Students could see “germs” on their hands when a black light was shined on them. They were taught how to properly clean their hands and then got to see how the germs disappeared after a thorough washing🧼
Mrs. Deeter's class read "Mooseltoe" and made a moosetache. It was a great morning in our Jolly Jeans and Christmas shirts!
Achieve students spent the last two days making Gingerbread Houses. They turned out great! The students also went on a virtual field trip where they learned how Gingerbread Houses are made.
Mahantongo 4th Grade completed their gingerbread houses this week. Mrs. Mattern did great on her first Gingerbread House Day. The students had a wonderful time and the houses turned out great!

Mrs. Geise's 3rd graders have been learning about this month's Character Strong word of the month- Gratitude! Students participated in activities to help them learn that gratitude is choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives!

Achieve students spent three class periods learning about Owls. They learned about Burrowing Owls, Barn Owls, Great Horned Owls, and Snowy Owls. Information was collected on their predators, where they live, what they look like, and what they eat. Students ended the lesson creating a Snowy Owl.
