🌊What is a Penstock? It is a crucial component in hydroelectric power generation! This giant, robust pipe carries water from the dam to turbines, turning the unstoppable force of flowing water into electricity⚡️ Designed to be strong and durable, it’s a vital part of keeping our lights on and our planet green.

👀This year in Dowmung, volunteer teachers are designing a series of exciting classes all about green energy, focusing on hydropower💡How cool is that?! Bring your incredible ideas over!

The journey is about to begin🌞 Here is your essential packing list!

①Comfortable clothing: Bring lightweight and breathable clothes that are suitable for outdoor activities. When you are working with the kids in their schools, wear something casual yet suitable.

②Footwear: Sturdy shoes for exploring! We suggest to bring at least two pairs.

③Sun protection: Shield yourself from the sun with sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses.

④Toiletries: Remember travel-sized toiletries, a towel and any personal essentials. 

⑤Water Bottle: Stay hydrated on the go with a reusable water bottle.

⑥Positive Attitude: Bring your enthusiasm, commitment, and smile!

Over at Session South, get ready for some exciting scavenger hunt adventures🧳🗺️ As our volunteer teachers are from all over the world, kids will “sail the seven seas” in search for hidden treasures around the globe⛵️🌏

For Session Ocean, participants will immerse themselves in a musical feast🎼🎹 And in Session East, we explore the wonders of the recycling kingdom, discover creative ways to repurpose everyday items😆

With a variety of unique formats, curriculums, and activities, the 2024 PLG Summer Program is promised to be an unforgettable experience!

Welcome to Chishang Junior High! Located in the most beautiful part of Taitung, Chishang offers stunning rice fields and magnificent starry sky🌾🌌

What is also special is that Chishang is the only middle school within all of our partner sites. Kids there are super smart! They slay it all in our STEAM themed program. We have teamed up with the kids and won 🥇🥈twice maker innovation contest! 👀

Hey Dongao Elementary! Located in the northeastern part of Taiwan, from serene mountains to shining beaches, the school offers stunning scenery!🌳🌊 Dongao also boasts its traditional culture background as well as talents. Oh yes! They just won the first prize in the singing contest 🏆🎤

We have been working with Dongao for several years. Our volunteer teachers and the kids leave countless memories with happiness and love every year❤️

Say hello to Dashu Elementary!

Nestled in the suburbs of Kaohsiung, this gem of a school is surrounded by towering Camphor Wood trees 🌳 creating perfect canopies for the outdoor fun. And guess what? They even have a community swimming pool! 💦

Last summer, we teamed up with Dashu Elementary for the first time, and it was magic! PLGers and the kids hit it off instantly. Now, we are super excited to invite you to join us for Session South!
