Project LET'S Go! (PLG) is a non-profit organization, partnered with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), dedicated to genuine involvement with local communities and schools through English-based education. Our organization targets local partners that represent lower-income, underserved and minority communities in Taiwan.
Since 2010, we have grown to become a grassroots, all-volunteer international organization that offers authentic service learning experiences to everyone involved. Our small team of teachers and volunteers quickly become family and develop life-long friendships with their colleagues and students. Many teachers return to volunteer with PLG for several years. Through PLG, teachers are provided with many opportunities for personal and professional growth through working hand-in-hand with local Taiwanese volunteers, their students, and the communities we serve.
PLG focuses on volunteers’ learning experience, too.
During the program, our volunteers build cultural competence, leadership skills, critical thinking abilities and new perspectives that enhance their personal and professional growth.
Although small, our partner schools serve as the centers of their rural communities.
Our volunteers may serve as a teacher during school hours, but they build authentic relationships with the local community through activities outside of school hours.
Our students come from poor schools and underserved communities. Thanks to PLG, they are provided with rare opportunities for English language learning and cross-cultural interactions. With our long-term presence, children that “graduated” and “left” the communities return home and become “teaching assistants in training” of Project LET’S Go! as a way of giving back to their own communities.
Our organization builds long-standing relationships with our partner schools. We are proud to announce that 2018 celebrates our 8-year partnership with Xiaolin Elementary School.
