Just planting the seed early...in 3 weeks you'll start the schedule transition. Don't worry, we'll remind you!!
🕑 Daylight savings time ends on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at 2:00 a.m. when we turn our clocks back 1 hour. Adults look forward to an extra hour of sleep. Parents often dread the time change because babies wake up an hour earlier!
If staying on your hard earned schedule is important to you, follow these tips below to keep your baby's bedtime schedule on track. You will also want to do the same shift in time for their naps and meal times on those days.
*Starting Wednesday, 10/30/2024, put your baby to sleep 15 minutes later than normal. If your baby normally goes to bed at 7:00 p.m. put them to bed at 7:15 p.m.
*Thursday, 10/31/2024, put your baby to bed 30 minutes later if your baby normally goes to bed at 7:00 p.m. put them to bed at 7:30 p.m..
*Friday 11/1/2024, put your baby to bed 45 minutes later. If your baby normally goes to bed at 7:00 p.m. put them to bed at 7:45 p.m.
*Saturday, 11/2/2024, put your baby to bed 1 hour later. If your baby normally goes to bed at 7:00 p.m. put them to bed at 8:00 p.m..
*Sunday, 11/3/2024, the day we "fall back", your baby's bedtime moves back to its normal time of 7:00 p.m.
Ask your questions below or DMS about how to keep your baby on track with a time change. We are here to support you and your baby!
⭐ Registered Nurse Spotlight ⭐
Our team has grown and it's likely you've already met Natalie, but let's make it Instagram official. Hear what Natalie has to share about herself...
"My name is Natalie and I have 16 years of ICU nursing experience with the last three years
being in the PICU at MUSC. As someone who’s raised four children and now enjoys a
grandchild, I understand the importance of restful sleep for both parents and babies. It’s with
great honor that I join your family in caring for and guiding your precious little one on their sleep journey."
She's already been busy making a difference in the lives of many Charleston area families. We are grateful to have her on the team!
💍Still can't get over being a small part of this dreamy day. We L🤍VE experiencing all of life's precious moments with you. Births, weddings, vacations....they're all magical and we can't wait to keep the good memories coming.
This week for Moments with Mandy we want to direct you to a ted talk we came across on IG via which very simply explains the importance of connecting with your child for their development.
It emphasizes a few simple points:
The first 5 years are crucial in development
Connect early & often with your child
"Serve & return" or games like peek a boo can change a child's life
Feel free to copy & paste from here to check it out:

Did we mention this talk was given by a 7 year old? It was captivating!
Starting our Sunday off with some feel good vibes ☺️. Always thankful for the families we work with. Also forever grateful for the amazing team we have to make getting these reviews even possible 🙌.
Just in case you needed the reminder. It's not all sunshine & rainbows but that doesn't mean you aren't doing a great job!
👰♀️🤵♂️ Wedding bells in your future? Let us help! Instead of worrying about who will take care of the baby before, during or after your big day, we'll be there.
Our wedding care is completely customizable. 24hr care or just a few hours for the big day. Local area weddings or destination getaways. Home care or care for baby in the hotel. Does baby need to be present for the wedding but not the reception, we've got you.
We can't wait to help your sweet babe be part of your big day!
🧳We're deep into summer and ready to travel!
To keep it easy peasy here are our must haves:
✅ Diapers & wipes (something to change baby on if needed)
✅ Several outfits for baby plus an extra shirt for caretaker in the event baby spits up
✅ Burp cloths & light blanket
✅ Pacifiers or other comfort items for soothing (maybe portable sound machine if that's for you)
✅ Bottles, formula/breastmilk, water for mixing formula, bibs
✅ Entertainment items: small baby toys/books, teething toys
Does that seem like a lot? Maybe, maybe not! You'll be well prepared if your bag looks like this also.
⭐ Registered Nurse Spotlight ⭐
Many of you may have already had the pleasure of working with Danielle but we wanted to make her Instagram official with YBC. We are sooo grateful for the years of experience she brings to our team! Here is what Danielle has to share about herself...
"My name is Danielle and I have been a Registered Nurse for 22 years. I have spent my career in Labor & Delivery and Women’s Health. Teaching newborn care and parenting skills has been an integral part of my work. It would be a pleasure to assist your family!"
We're happy to have Danielle be a part of our Charleston team!
This week's Moment with Mandy is all about breaking the daily schedule down to the basics.
Once baby is 2 weeks old, follow the:
✅eat
✅play
✅sleep routine throughout the day
Establish an easy to follow, consistent, bedtime routine that you follow every night.
Remember you aren't locked in to this 100% of the time, it's ok to get off schedule for special occasions!
It really is as simple as that. It's also helpful if you routinely start your day around the same time as well. Of course we could make this much more detailed and the perfect fit for your family. Let us know how we can help!
We'll never get over hearing what our team means to your families. YBC wouldn't be what we are without you all. We're thankful for each and every one of you!! 🥰
What to do during those awake windows? Well... #1 is try to stay awake 😴😂. Sometimes our sweet little babes fall asleep on the job and we have to encourage them to keep those 🫣 open! Tummy time is one of our natural go-tos. It's a great way to help baby develop needed muscles & a perfect way to bond. We hear it all the time that "my baby hates tummy time and just cries". Doing new things is hard but practice makes perfect so the best thing you can do is stick with it!!! Don't worry, this precious angel perked right back up and we played before nap.
📢 ATTENTION GREENVILLE, SC AREA 📢
We are expanding our team and coming to your area! We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses and Newborn Care Specialists to add to our current rockstar roster. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, let us know!

Q&A:How can I troubleshoot my baby waking up too early? Ex: 5:30am instead of 7am
This really depends on the age of 👶. However, often early wake ups are due to a baby who is:
1. not getting enough sleep during the day or
2. not enough calories during the day to make it through the night
So... addressing the early wake ups means addressing what could've gone better during the day.
✅ Make sure calorie needs are met in daytime hours. This means taking the ounces of the bottle they're offered during the time frame it's offered. "Snacking" leads to poor feeding routines.
✅ Protect nap time! Overtired babies don't sleep well.
Also, if your babe wakes early but is peaceful in their safe sleep space, it's ok to leave them be for a bit.
🩷 Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there. We hope you're being celebrated by your loved ones & enjoying your special day. Today is your day!!
