International School on Crystallization (ISC2018): Drugs, agrochemicals, minerals, new materials
ISC2018, Granada (Spain) May 21st-25th 2018, website: http://www.iscgranada.org/
The School is organized by the Laboratory of Crystallographic Studies (CSIC / University of Granada) and supported by the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr). ISC2018 will provide five days of lectures and practical demonstrations related to the crystallization of drugs, agrochemical industry, minerals, biominerals and new materials, covering from the fundamental aspects to their applications. Particular emphasis will be given to the crystallization of polymorphs, hydrates, cocrystals and chiral compounds.
The Registration and Grant Application are already open. We would appreciate if you could circulate this information to your colleagues and students.
Crystallize COST Action
COST is a unique platform where European researchers can jointly develop their own ideas and new initiatives across all scientific disciplines.
COST is the longest-running European framework supporting trans-national cooperation among researchers, engineers and scholars across Europe. It is a unique means for them to jointly develop their own ideas and new initiatives across all fields in science and technology, including social sciences and humanities, through pan-European networking of nationally funded research activities. Well done to Martina Piccinno, C´esar A. Angulo-Pach´on, Pablo Ballester, Beatriu Escuder and Antonella Dalla Cort* on their recent publication “Rational design of a supramolecular gel based on a Zn(II)–salophen bis-dipeptide derivative” RSC Adv., 2016, 6, 57306-57309.
Rational design of a supramolecular gel based on a Zn(ii)–salophen bis-dipeptide derivative -... We report the rational design and synthesis of a supramolecular gelator based on a Zn(ii)–salophen derivative functionalized with l-valine residues. This compound is able to gelate acetonitrile by self-assembly into helical long fibers that further aggregate into bundles. The fibers are stabilized b...
