Help us keep our campuses safe and our students healthy!

The Fall 2020 semester begins Monday, Aug 17! Campuses are open and in-person services have resumed. Students will notice less seating available on campus as lounges and shared student spaces are still temporarily closed. Although we love seeing students on campus, for their safety, students are encouraged to attend classes, access services, then return home.

Visit azwestern.edu/covid for more details about our efforts to maintain a healthy campus.

The Classified Employee Association is excited to announce that the Red Plate employee recognition program is back! The Classified Employee Association (CEA) has the honor of organizing this recognition program where peers select their coworkers to be recognized. Directions on how it works will be posted to our website soon.

To kick off the Red Plate employee recognition the CEA Officers want to recognize a special individual:

Luis Vizcarra was chosen for the Red Plate not only because of his hard work and dedication to the Classified Employee Association where he advocates for part time employees, but also his contribution to the Assessment Committee, participation in Club SOTE and his representation as a First Gen student with the KEYS program. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of CEA and represent each of you!

I am an only child, my parents moved to the U.S. pursuing the American dream when I was six years old, English became my second language. My parents were agriculture workers in Yuma and the Salinas California Valley, my father’s dream was always for me to receive a better education here in the U.S.
It is my privilege to continue to serve as a CEA Officer. I am passionate about facilitating professional development opportunities to our classified employees and encouraging everyone to reach their ultimate educational goals."
