“I wanted to share the finished treads with you. My mom hooked these for me and I just feel so lucky and grateful!
The stairs lead to the bedrooms so I thought counting sheep would be a fitting theme!” Becki Walsh
Exquisite stitching!
I've just said it and I'll say it again. The results of the online workshops are fantastic. This one being progress from Ann Fink who participated in the recent Constellation Chapter MidAtlantic EGA online workshop. Wow, Ann.
Mixed media and found objects can produce wonderful pieces of art.
A mixed media meadow made with hand-painted fabrics, recycled plastic, and paper, topped with textured embroidery and stitches.
I love Klimt, I tried cross stitching 'The Kiss' some years ago on 11ct Aida with 4 threads. It's still on a frame, somewhere at the back of a wardrobe. I really should find it... 😄
Oh I give up! It’s IMPOSSIBLE not to become obsessed with this wonderful process🎈February.

Such beautiful stitching on a unique doll.
My beautiful Motanka doll from Ukraine has arrived. This wonderful work was made by and is full of symbolism.
Of course, the first thing I noticed about these dolls is the crossed threads of the face - using the same patterns and techniques as thread buttons!
It's worth remembering that you can support Ukraine by supporting individual artists and makers.
Do any of you have a special piece of needlework that was crafted by a relative or friend? It is often a wonderful way to remember our family and friends who may have passed on.
"This needlepoint of a barge was a wedding present from my aunt Marian Heaton, framed by her husband. Aunt Marion was a respected needlework teacher in West Yorkshire, and I remember her telling me that she was part of a team that stitched the clerical robes and mitre for the inauguration of the Bishop of Leeds.
It's lovely to look at her work and I hope that I am honouring her skill in my own stitching."

We had a lovely meeting yesterday as lots of members young and old came to stitch and craft in Dublin.
Our display table featured toys, biscornu, knitwear, blackwork, bag crochet and a mosaic table! Truly talented members 💗
A pincushion exchange was announced and interest was taken for upcoming classes on Chicken Scratching and Dorset Buttons.
So many good things coming 😊
Happy Women's Day! (Gentleman stitchers, we'll celebrate you in November 😄!)
We still have some spaces remaining at this weekend's workshops. Grab a friend and come make your very own journal at Woodbine Books in Kilcullen. In the morning, we'll be making a book with integrated pockets in the cover. In the afternoon, we'll make one with either a tab or ribbon closure. For tickets and more, see the link in our bio.
