Join the next Climate Change AI webinar on May 13th on "Machine Reading the Growing Climate Science and Adaptation Literature", featuring Dr. Roopam Shukla (Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee) & Dr. Max Callaghan (Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change).
Description:
Can computational advances in natural language processing help to make sense of the expanding climate science and adaptation literature?
There are hundreds of thousands of scientific papers about climate change. This poses an increasingly intractable challenge for evidence synthesis, including large assessments like the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, as well as science more generally. Computational approaches from NLP can assist in identifying and mapping this literature; the use of machine learning can streamline labour-intensive processes in the practice of evidence synthesis. Join us for an exciting overview of this timely topic by Dr. Roopam Shukla and Dr. Max Callaghan.
