The Edinburgh University Trauma & Orthopaedics Society (EUTOS) supports T&O inclined med students!

Endorsed by the University of Edinburgh Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and supported by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, we provide a hub for students and foundation doctors with a passion for orthopaedics. From 2014 we will be providing lectures, career talks, workshops and online revision notes, and we host our National Undergraduate Orthopaedic Conference every year at RCSEd

After a wonderful and successful year, we will be holding our AGM on the 30th of April at 6.00pm.

All positions will be voted on and any member of the society can apply for any role EXCEPT the role of President and Vice President which are only open to the CURRENT committee

The roles available are outlined below.

We ask that if applying for president or Vice President you prepare a speech 3 minutes in length and for other positions a 2-minute speech. There will be time allotted after speeches for questions from those attending.

If you are unable to make the meeting but wish to apply for a position, please message us your speech and a member of this year's committee will read it at the meeting.

The AGM will take place on zoom with link being shared closer to the date.

⚒️Interested in T&O?

Join us as we learn more about how to get into Orthopaedics with Mr Robert Kay!

👨🏻‍⚕️Mr Kay is an ST1 in T&O on the South East Scotland Rotation.
He graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 2021 after which he took part in the academic foundation programme. He was also the former teaching coordinator for EUTOS (so we are thrilled to have him back!)

🚨 Exciting News 🚨 The EUTOS Suturing Series is making a comeback after a long hiatus!

Dive into the world of surgery with our in-person sessions, led by experienced Orthopaedic Surgeons 🦴🛠

Participants will be taught the basics of wound healing and suturing, and how to scrub-in and perform simple & advanced suturing techniques. And that's not all! Cap off the series with a thrilling mini-competition featuring animal tissue, with prizes up for grabs! 🎁

💸 To secure your spot, simply pay a £15 deposit on MedAll, of which £10 will be refunded upon attending all sessions. Please note that failure to attend will result in a forfeiture of the deposit.

Spots are limited and this series has been a sell-out success in previous years, so be sure to secure your place ASAP to avoid missing out! All participants will receive a course certificate at the end of the series.
