SON OF SINGLE MOM OFW WINS 8 MEDALS IN BATANG PINOY FINALS 2022:

Another young archer in Chass Mhaiven Colas has clinched three gold and five silver medals to become the only athlete from Baguio City to win eight medals in the Batang Pinoy National Championships 2022 in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
Late information said the 13-year-old Colas won his solo gold in the 50 meters under 15 boys then won two more gold with teammates Raizen Riley De Guzman and Rokai Tacudog in the U15 team event and Shayne Pawe in the U15 mixed team event.
Colas also went on to win five silver medals in the 30m, 40m, 1440 round, 60m, and Olympics round. He has competed against 44 athletes from various participating local government units.
A son of a single mother, who is also an overseas Filipino worker in Vietnam, Colas is a student of Baguio City National High School Special Program for Sports. His coach is John Hongitan with Renian Nawew, also a multiple medalist of BP 2019, as his personal trainer.
Earlier, Jathniel Caleb Fernandez stole the limelight when he won six gold medals in archery, specifically in 10m, 15m, 20m, 30m,1440, and Olympics round.
The city government of Baguio also hauled its gold medals in Muay Thai, taekwondo, judo, arnis, swimming, and wushu.
Overall, highland athletes have delivered 31 gold, 30 silver, and 39 bronze medals, or a total of 100 medals for Baguio, which won the overall title for three consecutive years.
