OPTIs are community-based training consortium comprised of at least one college of osteopathic medicine and one hospital and may include additional hospitals and ambulatory training facilities. By building medical education partnerships, OPTIs enhance educational quality, facilitate sharing of educational resources, provide faculty development, foster cooperative training programs, support communi
ty-based medical education, encourage clinical research, and create strong linkages among medical schools, teaching hospitals and ambulatory training facilities. The Consortium for Excellence in Medical Education (CEME) (the OPTI affiliated with Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine) was established in January 1999, to increase opportunities for postgraduate medical training, internships, residencies, fellowships, and continuing education. The CEME is an alliance of clinical sites linked through electronic networks; teaching, research, and the community health collaborations; and a shared commitment to excellence in the education of tomorrow's physicians. The Consortium for Excellence in Medical Education is dedicated to the education of knowledgeable, highly skilled, and compassionate physicians capable of providing medical care of the highest quality using the latest clinical techniques and treatment procedures. Whatever your career goals or aspirations, you will find opportunity, support, and encouragement to excel within the Consortium for Excellence in Medical Education.
