URGENT PRESS RELEASE
OCTOBER 3, 2023, AT 3PM WESTERN STANDARD TIME
THE DECANI MONASTERY RELIEF FUND
Desperation for Kosovo no food or medical supplies allowed to enter Kosovo for Serbs from Belgrade at the border, most food stores are empty for Serbs to obtain food, and medical supplies are limited. No firwood for the winter?
+Very Reverend Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes, president of the Decani Monastery Relief Fund
Beloved Servants and Handmaidens of our Lord,
As of October 3, 2023, in the region of Kosovo for the Serbs the borders reaching the region with food and medical supplies are not allowed to enter from Belgrade to Kosovo!
The word I have received today is the stores where the Serbs get their food no food is available! This includes medical supplies.
The Serbs now must go through another unfortunate struggle trying to feed their children, and for those who get ill not enough of medical supplies.
What about those who are with child they will have to seek to go North of the border to find a hospital?
The winter months are now setting in the region throughout Kosovo especially at night and how will the Serbs keep their homes warm, and so this means no firwood will be available.
If a Serb tries to cut down a tree for firewood for their homes, they will be harassed and might be even arrested!
Then when the Serbs drive to get food for their homes they are stopped by the local police and fined as well as arrested!
Where are the humanitarian causes within those who now occupy the region? Where is the peace and good will among all?
The Decani Monastery will do all it can to help those who need food, and assist those who need firewood, as well as appeal for medical supplies.
We can help at this time by offering your loving donation to the Decani Monastery Relief Fund please I earnestly turn to you for your love and assistance.
I plan to go to Belgrade and Kosovo during the last two weeks in November, nothing will stop me for me to take this trip even if I have to sleep at the border!
Pease, please send a donation to our fund we need you at this hour.

Prayer for Protection from Raging Fires & of high Temperatures
By Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes....
Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church
Boise, ID
These are the times to pray as we face raging fires not only in America, but also in Greece and elsewhere.
Let us pray to the Lord!
Gracious God Who created the earth & all that is in it, Thou didst give us so many blessings.
Indeed, Thou didst fill the world with so much beauty, bounty and no end of wonders!
We ask Thee now to save Thy people from nature’s furious fires.
Save those whose homes and families are in the path of the wildfires that are consuming the land.
Give courage to those who fight fires, who clean up and help others to rebuild after disasters strike.
Give strength to all survivors and peace to those whose lives are in danger.
Grant blessings during these days of high temperatures.
Send down abundant rain showers to quench the flames and the cool of the day. As Thou didst send to Noah of old, also send the rainbow of hope.
Nature may rage but Thou, O Lord, we know art a Loving God Who ever holds in Thy hand all Thou hast created.
Unto Thee do we give thanks for all things!
Grant us humility to repent of our negligence in tending Thy Creation & give us henceforth the will to serve Thee more faithfully.
Protect homes and monasteries and all Thy people. In all the days of our lives let us remember to honor and worship Thee as the Living God: Father, Son, and All-Holy Spirit. Amen.
Through the prayers of the holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.

Currently the Synod of Bishops including the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church are meeting in Serbia. The following statement by the Patriarch and the Synod has issued the following statement in regard to the persecution of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo/Metohija. + Very Reverend Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes, preisdent of the Decani Monastery Relief Fund.
The Serbian Orthodox Church is in a particularly difficult situation. This is also confirmed in the statements of international officials and respected bodies that deal with issues of protection of religious rights and freedoms. In addition to the series of attacks on our temples and the prevention of the normal process of restoration, dozens of our sanctuaries were damaged or destroyed, especially in the period 1999-2004. year, the life of our monasteries and parishes is very difficult. In several ways, the Albanian authorities of Kosovo initiated the process of changing and reinterpreting the previous laws, which included guarantees for the protection of property and economic rights and which enable the self-sustainability of our monasteries. As a rule, the highest Albanian officials do not accept the real and official name of our Church confirmed by Kosovo law, nor the guarantees that are incorporated into the laws. All of this threatens to develop into other repressive measures that can further threaten its spiritual mission and the preservation of the identity of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

A Christ-loving appeal to help repair St. Tikhon's Monastery Hall
From Very Reverend Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes Boise, ID.
Christ is Risen!
I know of your kindness and love when we have a serious time of need, and so now I humbly turn to you in the joyful days of our Lord's Holy Resurrection. Please see the following from St. Tikhon's Monastery.
As the new welcoming pavilion is nearing completion, the septic system in our dining hall has completely broken, with only a month before the Memorial Day pilgrimage. All of the plumbing will need to be replaced for the entire building, and in order to get to the plumbing we are having to break up the cement floors.
The dining hall is used for coffee hour every Sunday, as well as funeral meals, summer camp, weddings and all public events. If you have ever been blessed by the hospitality of the monastery, we ask that you please consider donating.
Thank you for your consideration and prayers. And thank you for your continued support of St. Tikhon's Monastery.
You can send your donation for repair of Monastery Hall too:
