Maligayong Pasko po sa inyong lahat!!!
Saint Lucy, your beautiful name signifies light. By the light of faith which God bestowed upon you, increase and preserve this light in my soul so that I may avoid evil, be zealous in the performance of good works, and abhor nothing so much as the blindness and the darkness of evil and of sin.
By your intercession with God, obtain for me perfect vision for my bodily eyes and the grace to use thme for God’s greater honor and glory and the salvation of all men.
Saint Lucy, virgin and martyr, hear my prayers and obtain my petitions.
Amen. 🙏🏻

GOOD NEWS ! 🎀🎀🎀
ESCOLARIAN gets a 2023 AUS Post OPTO FELLOW 🎀👍🎀
While we are still grappling with the hot humid weather then … thunderstorms in Manila, let us share with you a more than pleasant news dear. fellow Escolarian alumni !🎀👏🎀
JUST RECENTLY , the ACBO FELLOWSHIP Program based in Australia announced that a successful Filipino , Dr. MAMIKO FENELLA - SY, our own ESCOLARIAN 1997 Cum Laude graduate and PRC’s 1997 OPTO Board Licensing Topnotcher received the ACBO Fellowship Program, which is the ultimate credential of professional excellence in Behavioural Optometry.
Dr. Sy, however, is certainly not one who is contented to rest on her laurels and her achievements in 1997. Take note , that she went on to finish as a Fellow of the Philippine College of Optometry; as well as passed as US Certified ( American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners ).
Hence, through the years, Dr. MAMIKO SY has continuously upgraded her technical skills and expertise in new challenging fields in Vision Development, neuro-optometric rehab , Syntonic optometry, and finally the latest at the Australasia College of Behaviour Optometry.
Behavioural Optometry , does not only deal with the study on eyes and it’s visual system functions… and how one’s behaviour affects her vision, and vice-versa. It’s more than this common notion…
Why ? A reading on this tells us that one ‘ s vision functions depends on its requirements… , such as on reading , using computers, learning to read and write, even in playing sports… actually there are 17 visual skills ; more importantly, vision development or behavioural optometry deals with visual acuity… visual integrity.
These visual skills enable one to see clearly and comfortably.
How your eyes work together and work with your brain and how to communicate accurately and process information. See, this is how meticulous this upgraded skills require of Dr. Mamiko Sy.
Some focus areas of Development optometrists include : children’s visions, sports vision, vision-learning difficulties, traumatic brain injuries, myopia management. and even those with Parkinson’s disease.
You may say that Dr. MAMIKO SY had been really serious and passionately committed in her upgraded career… especially in behavioural optometry.
Just a quick glance of her work experiences would definitely prove , that she really deserved this ACBO Fellowship program as her post graduate studies in Australia… along with another fellow from NSW.
In her personal testimonies , her studies in Australia had been more of a struggle, because , among her classmates, she’s the only Filipino, and she feels like an ‘underdog’, as she doesn’t command a good fluent English.
BUT, OF COURSE, this issue did NOT STOP her to give her BEST ! SHE had to prove to all , especially among her Australian professors and experts, that she CAN GIVE her BEST in full flying colors ! 👏🇵🇭👏🎀
She’s ably backed up by her rich and varied work experiences mostly serving as Volunteer at some children’s foundation’s such as the Patrick Teng Foundation; the Heart at Play ; a Visiting Neuro Developmental Optometrist at Kids Can Therapy Center; a Visiting Neuro Developmental Optometrist at Connected Kids Occupational Therapy; a Volunteer at Miss Possibilities Foundation; Optometry Doctor at QC Vision Development and Rehab Center ; a Neuro Developmental Optometrist at the Medical City Southern Luzon Eye Center in Laguna; and
a former Optometrist at the American Eye Center, Shangrila Mall.
GOD has blessed her in this career. ..as she has learned to balance her strong academic preparations with applying these theories in doing actual volunteer work especially among children who have problems in their vision development.✅🤗✅
Right now Dr. M. SY has opened her own clinic and runs a successful Behavioural Optometrist Center, the first of a kind here in Manila.
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you, DR. MAMIKO FLANELA - SY! 👍👏🎀👏❤️✅🙏🤗🎊🎀🙏
May GOD bless you more in your
career to give quality service to our children , adults and those who have problems in vision acuity and behaviour issues. ❤️👍🙏🎀🎊🎉👏🤗🙏✅❤️👏
Congratulations to our CEU School of Optometry, Dean Elena Borromeo and its faculty ; our CEU AFI President, Dr. Paz Lucido for this honor from our alumna, Dr. Sy.
