, be provided at least one healthy meal a day, and then work at a tailored pace with our teachers to learn through a fundamental academic curriculum. Since the organization's inception, the above principal functions have proven themselves a powerful foundation on which to stage the wider vision of the GGYN. As such we are able,
through our network of passionate former GGYN student and international volunteers, and a small full-time staff, to also strive to imbue each of our students with a deep, personal pride in their Ghanaian culture and heritage. To this end, our practice is evidenced by an attention to and instruction offered in the rich Ghanaian traditions of drumming and dance, both reflecting local custom and expanding each student's experiences to represent, amplify and celebrate a pride in themselves and one another. With careful hands, and always with a persevering, joyful optimism, we dare to nurture a liberated voice for and from within the hearts of Kissehman's youth declaring the Will and Humanity of those very same individuals as limitless. We continue in this hope so that lastly, we might illuminate to each child the truth of their potential for self-determination. Ultimately, we believe that this is what takes root in our students' awareness: a personal sense of empathy, passion, and social responsibility that grows out into the ever-expanding community sphere, achieving something which extends beyond any locale or specific circumstance: an uncommon communion with and enrichment of our common, global humanity.
