Amanda had two sons, each of whom were delivered by C-section. Her experience highlights the difference experiences women can have with childbirth. She feels lucky to have had the support of her husband throughout this process.

Meet Laura. She was lucky to have her husband take a paternity leave to help postpartum and was surprised that this wasn't a standard policy across the nation. She devoted her time to become a full time mom because she couldn't justify working to then pay for daycare.

She mentioned the time off for maternity leave is not meant just for bonding with the child or for recovery, but for both. She stressed it's not enough time for both.

Meet Mia. When asked, Mia described how her pregnancy costed her between $5000-6000 in the first year alone. She participated in a study to receive free ultrasounds, which would have costed upwards of $1000.

She also spoke of Post Partum Depression, which she mentioned might not be developed until 6 weeks after labor. Mia's story highlights the cost of pregnancy, both financially and on the mother's well being, over an extended period of time.
