Celebrate the 100th day of school with a little learning that doesn't quite feel like learning. 😉

Engage your students with reading and writing sight words in a hands-on way with this emergent reader!

Each page of the "When I am 100" Interactive Sight Word Reader contains a predictable sentence missing the word “when”. Students will cut apart the letters to spell “when” (included), then unscramble and glue the letters into each page to correctly spell the sight word.

Your students will LOVE creating this sight word book and you will love how EASY the prep is! Pages are formatted to print two-to-a-page for quick and easy collating.

Grab one for your classroom for only $1!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Wishing you a silent night filled with peace and joy. 🌟

December has always been my favorite month of teaching. There is so much joy and excitement everywhere you look. The only downside is that it is particularly challenging to squeeze in academic content around the Christmas programs, parent gift making, gingerbread decorating, Grinch Day and everything else on the calendar. ⁣

Fortunately, I've got you covered with this Interactive Sight Word Reader! "Do You See Santa" provides engaging sight word practice while students create their own book about Santa. Once the book is complete, they can add it to their book boxes for a "just-right" seasonal text to read again and again. ⁣

BEST. CHRISTMAS. CRAFT. EVER.⁣

Gingerbread houses are fun, but are WAY too tricky for little hands. I love making frosted Christmas trees instead because they deliver all the fun of frosting and candy without the frustration. It’s also a quick project that’s great for those short attention spans. The trees are fun, but the real magic is in the carrying case. I used an inverted plastic cup with the lid to hold the tree so it could safely be transported home. Add a little ribbon and the frosted tree looks like a Christmas ornament (and conveniently keeps little fingers from sampling the completed project at the wrong time). It’s seriously the best little Christmas craft ever and the PERFECT activity for your class party. ⁣

Worried about sharing germs? Simply give each child their own personal frosting container and a plastic knife. Each child can also be given an individual baggie or small condiment cup with candy decorations. If students use a small paper plate to hold the tree while they work, the rim of the plate conveniently serves as a tray to hold the candy.⁣

Tap the link in the comments for step-by-step instructions on preparing the cup for the project and shopping links to get the right cup size on Amazon, along with more tips to help you successfully create Frosted Christmas Trees with little ones.⁣

Advent has arrived and this simple little paper plate craft will always be a favorite activity of the season. (My daughter Dessa made this wreath with me when she was only two years old.)
