🌟 We had an incredible time at our SheHacksSwift Work Experience Program last year, and we’re so excited to share what we got up to! 💖

Here’s what we got up to:
📱 Learned Swift programming fundamentals with SwiftUI.
👩‍💻 Built MVP apps, collaborating on GitHub and supported by incredible mentors from Apple, Atlassian, RMIT, and Girl Geek Academy.
🌟 Created innovative app ideas built by students from grade 7 to 12, most it was their first time coding ever!!

Our Girl Geeks had a blast:
💬 Freya shared, “Before this I wasn’t particularly confident with using computers, but after this, I feel inspired to use coding again!”
💬 Sienna added, “I met lots of amazing people this week! I made two really good friends and loved learning about everyone’s apps.”

Our Managing Director, Lisy Kane spoke with , “Any smart educated woman would see the current outcome of the Richard White saga as a major deterrent for a career in tech, where the industry folds in on itself to defend his reputation.”

“We need to end this boys’ club mentality running technology education in Australia, and we can’t do it without broader support.”

We’re calling on state and federal governments to look at helping to address this crisis for young women created by powerful men in tech 👉
