Monday’s fairy tale was Repunzel. Our challenge was to build a tower for her that was as long as her hair and could stand all by itself.

Monday’s fairy tale was Puss in Boots. Our STEM challenge was to create a boot using paper and tape. The students had to be able to walk across the classroom without their boot falling off.

We started working with word families this week. Our work family is -at. Everyone brought home a matching game to play at home.

Our friends from the middle school came back today! We built marshmallow snowmen and wrote stories about them. Then we ate them!!

The snow is here! With the snow are a few friendly reminders:
*To play at recess in the 0-degree + weather we need our students to have a coat, snow pants, boots, hat, and gloves daily. While we have a couple extra those are for students who forget or don't have access to a coat. Please please make sure your child leaves your car or house each morning with all of these items!
*If you are not able to get these supplies for your child please reach out to your child's teacher.
*We go out for recess before school so please come dressed and ready for the fun!
*If your child eats breakfast at school please drop them off between 7:35 and 7:40 at the latest so they have time to each before the instruction for the day begins!

Our second Fairy Tale STEM challenge was to make a parachute for Jack (Jack and the beanstalk) so that he can escape from the giant.

Our buildings grew as our friend groups grew ♥️. We ♥️ Friendship Day!

Friendship day was a big hit! Our craft/snack was a donut turkey.

We started our Fairy Tale STEM unit. Our first story was The Princess and the Pea. Our first challenge was a stacking one. We tried stacking different materials (like the mattresses in the story) to see which we could stack the highest before it fell over. We collected data and compared it. We were able to stack the most buttons! Second place was the colored sticks.

The playground will be cold today please be sure to bundle up your student. Winter coat, hat and gloves/mittens.

We learned a new game today to practice our letter sounds.

Show and Tell Day
Friday, November 15th, will be a Show and Tell day. Every student may bring one item to share with the class. We are working on presenting to a group and asking good questions so this will be wonderful practice.
