We have some great news from a very talented student Kirsty (S2)

Kirsty was selected to represent Central and South East Scotland in the Youth Tour of Scotland that took place in Perthshire over Easter. This was a three day, four stage road race, competing against teams from all over the UK and further afield. At 13 years of age Kirsty was one of the youngest riders: of the 78 girls in her race!

She also took part in her first track race: a British Cycling Omnium held at the Caird Park Velodrome in Dundee. Competing against girls from all over Scotland, and came 3rd!!.

This weekend she's cycling in the another national competition: the Isle of Man Youth Tour, a 3 day stage road race! She had some company this time with Archie Ellen from S2 also competing!

Well done to both of them!

If anyone has any news or success stories please message us as we want to be able to congratulate everyone on their achievements!

Yesterday our S1 and S2 girls travelled to Penicuik High school for a friendly Netball fixture!

Penicuik put on a strong defence with some great plays, but it wasn’t enough to stop our dynamic shooting duos as we took the first quarter 6-2.

From that point on JGHS grew in strength within defence and attack. Our Most Valued Player was awarded to Laila Flores-Rueda- Miss Ewing said that she was exceptional in defence making countless interceptions and aiding JGHS to a 16-2 win.

Well done girls! Hopefully the first of many Netball successes!
P.S- This girls were so excited to finally get to wear the schools black netball dresses that they played the duration of the game with them on backwards!! 😂😂😂
