Bicycle Information, Knowledge, and Education in Fargo-Moorhead
The mission of BIKE FM is to provide Bicycle Information, Knowledge, and Education in Fargo-Moorhead (hence the acronym "BIKE FM") and was created in 2017 to help make a safer and more bicycle-friendly community. BIKE FM is hosted by the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments, or Metro COG, the regional planning organization that serves Moorhead and Dilworth in Minnesota, and Fargo and West Fargo in North Dakota. Based on Metro COG's past two five-year Bicycle & Pedestrian Plans, bicycle safety and education was demonstrated to be of utmost importance to the public. BIKE FM strives to implement many of the recommendations set forth in the latest Fargo-Moorhead Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan. The group has been working to provide bicycle education classes with the help of local experts, displaying safety education information with help of local jurisdictions, aggressively distributing bikeways maps to the public, and maintaining a website which provides the public with a host of bike-related resources.
