Welcome to The Hill Coach Lucas Metcalfe! Mr. Metcalfe will be our PE/Health Teacher and our Strength and Conditioning Coach. He attended Delphos St. John’s High School in Delphos, Ohio and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Strength and Conditioning from Ohio Northern University, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Coach Metcalfe worked previously in various roles of Strength and Conditioning at Archbishop McNicholas High School and Delphos St. John’s High School.

"My favorite part of the role is being able to use my education and experiences to help students," he said, "and my favorite part of the job is being able to help students get better at their sport while building habits they can carry beyond high school."

He chose to come to The Hill, because "NCC is a very similar community to the one that I grew up in and where most of my experiences have been in. I am looking forward to getting to work with all of you!"

In his free time, Mr. Metcalfe enjoys golfing, fishing and lifting. Welcome to the NCC Family, Mr. Metcalfe!

Does anyone know when they made engraved spoons of St. John's church?

We had some wonderful donations to our DSJ Alumni archives this week.
Janet Warniment donated a scrapbook from Jim Sendelbach. He used a 1930's geography book to paste articles about DSJ basketball in the late 1930's.
Also donated were some items from Sue Odenweller, Class of 1955. Included is a cheerleading sweater with a J, graduation items, class play program from Annie Get Your Gun and a 7th grade spelling book.
Finally, Linda McClure donated a photo album from the DSJ Alumni band's trip to Indianapolis for the Indy 500 parade.

Okay history buffs and "mature" Alumni. We were asked when did DSJ start charging tuition? I know decades ago it might have just been called a "book bill". And for a long time it was very reasonable. What do you know? Any thoughts?

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, August 9th at 6:30 pm at the K of C Hall for all Wednesday night bingo volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer, please come to the meeting.
